Pavetest's BBR is a thermoelectric low-temperature asphalt bending beam rheometer for testing the bending creep test of asphalt cement at room temperature to -40°C. The load is applied by a miniature servo-controlled actuator that can apply a load of +25N and the loading frequency can range from static to dynamic 25Hz, without the need to configure an air compressor to supply compressed air.

The asphalt bending beam rheometer is servo-controlled, eliminating the need for frequent calibration and repeated adjustment of the pressure of the air bearing. Simply enter the required load value and the servo-controlled actuator is applied with incredible speed accuracy and keeps the set load stable. The temperature can be precisely controlled using a temperature controller mounted on the front of the machine.

The bath temperature can be set using the controller or via software. At the heart of the asphalt bending beam rheometer system is Pavetest's Control and Data Acquisition System (CDAS2) and (TestLab) software.

Asphalt bending beam rheometer accurately measures the bending creep accuracy and creep rate curve of asphalt at the lowest road temperature, which is used to evaluate the low-temperature cracking performance of asphalt, focusing on reflecting the ability to resist temperature contraction cracking and avoid low-temperature cracking of the road surface. Suitable for non-modified asphalt, can test the principle of asphalt, asphalt after pressure aging test and aging asphalt after the test of rotating film oven (or film oven).
