In addition to the places that need to be observed when normally selecting ornamental fish, submarine fish have a distinctive feature, that is, when the physical condition is not good or the pressure is too high, the surface of the fish will be blackened, and sometimes it will curl up and refuse to move. Therefore, choose a submarine fish to avoid this state.
You can compare, the above picture is the healthy state of the submarine, the body color is bright, the fins are white, and the dynamic is obvious; while the picture below the submarine body surface is black, the body is curled up, and it is sluggish. Of course, sometimes the body color of the submarine is a little dark, or the pressure is high and the lateral line of the body is black, which is normal, but at this time, their active state is good, swimming and lively, and there is a certain difference from the sick fish.
Note: The rearing density of submarine fish should also not be too large, and you should not expect submarine fish to have a group swimming effect. Usually depending on how big your tank is, it is best to ensure that each submarine fish has about 6 liters of living space.

The specific gravity of suitable "soda" for submarine fish (measured by the hydrometer) is about 1.005, which is about 10 to 15 grams of sea salt per liter of water. Be careful not to use iodized salt that people eat (these iodines can kill fish)! To buy sea salt for fish farming in aquarium shops, this does not need to look at the price, cheap ball salt or more expensive purified bag sea salt can be.
When configuring, use water that has been exposed to sunlight for one day or left to dry for three days to achieve the purpose of chlorine removal and avoid the residual chlorine of tap water from damaging the mucous membranes of the fish. If you don't have time, you can also boil the water or add the chlorine remover sold in the aquarium store, but you should pay attention to the long-term use of the chlorine remover may cause harm to the fish.
If you have the conditions, you can also use the hydrometer to accurately control the salt when configuring the "soda". However, submarine fish are more adaptable and are generally guaranteed to be within the salt content per liter of water mentioned above. If you put water into the tank for the first time, the configured brine can be placed in the fish tank, open the water circulation to filter the water, and the water can be put into the tank for 2 to 3 days.

1. Glass fish tank

2. Water circulation, oxygen pump and heating rod (explosion-proof)
The water circulation is the fish tank filter, and sometimes you have to add your own water pump. Because submarine fish are carnivorous fish, eat more, excrete more, and are rich in nitrogen and sulfur elements that cause pollution, it is recommended that the barrel filter or drip box with strong filtration function is recommended, and the principle is to choose a filter bucket or filter box that can accommodate more filter materials as much as possible according to the size of the fish tank.
I do not recommend the long-term use of the fish tank's own filter or the so-called "three-in-one pump", which is known as "filtration, circulation, oxygenation" multi-function, in fact, the function is only there, the role is minimal, especially the filtration function is too poor. Submarine fish need to have a stable water temperature, the heating rod set water temperature is maintained at about 23 ° C, in fact, between 20 ° C and 30 ° C is no problem, but do not long-term higher than 28 ° C or long-term below 20 ° C is better.
3. Filter media
Usual filter cotton, porous adsorption materials, bacteria house, etc. are necessary, do not use acid filter media such as volcanic stone. The bacteria house is used to cultivate nitrifying bacteria, which can decompose the waste discharged by the boat to reduce water pollution and water change frequency.
4. Nitrifying bacteria and sea salt
Nitrifying bacteria and sea salt are available on the market as a supplement, although it is not recommended to add directly to the fish tank, but prepare some to prevent poor water quality. When there is a real need, take it according to the instructions, and you can pour it directly into the water body and filter at the same temperature.
5. Fecal suction device / bottom suction pump
Fish tank cleaning tools, both manual and electric, can suck out the feces at the bottom of the tank. Because submarine fish can eat and pull, so the bare tank is commonly used, you need to have one.
6. Other decorative items
The decoration of the fish tank for raising submarine fish is not necessary, if you want to look good, you can buy ceramic fish houses and other landscaping, do not use products containing glue or inferior plastic. The bottom of the cylinder can be paved with sand, do not lay colored stones. However, sand cleaning is more troublesome, and novices recommend raising naked tanks (do not put anything). It is not recommended to raise aquatic weeds, after all, most aquatic weeds are not salt tolerant.
