Syria's minister of local administration and environment said that since the outbreak of the Syrian war, China has supported Syria and provided a lot of support, especially in the humanitarian and relief fields, not to mention bilateral cooperation with numerous Chinese, including in the field of renewable energy. Assistant Syrian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Ayman Susan said the aid showed China's support for Syria and reflected a strong bilateral relationship. China has been committed to sympathizing with the suffering of the Syrian people and condemning some countries for plundering Syria's resources such as wheat and oil.
