Many villages in Tangxi adhere to ancient etiquette, and Xiayi Village is particularly prominent (the area around Dongzhu and Xiayi was transferred from Longyou County to Tangxi County during the Ming Dynasty). The People of Xia Yi set the beginning of June of the lunar calendar as the Baodao Festival. On this day every year, the villagers hold a grand sacrifice ceremony to worship the ancestors and raise the "god of grain" to patrol the fields.
