The Yaos, one of the oldest ethnic groups in China, are also one of the longest-lived ethnic groups in China. There are more than 2.79 million Yaos in China (2010 statistics) in more than 130 counties in the six provinces (regions) of Guangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Yunnan, Guizhou and Jiangxi in southern China. Among them, Guangxi is the largest number of people.
