This touching love story takes place in a small town in Croatia. One day in 1993, an old man was fishing when he came across an injured female stork. Under the careful care of the old man, although the female stork survived, her wings were left with permanent disabilities and she could no longer fly long distances.
So the old man decided to take in the female stork, and gave it a nice name, Marina (meaning small), and has been dependent on it ever since. Marina, whose wings were injured, could not prey on her own, and the old man went to the river every day to fish, fed it one bite at a time, and often drove it for a ride. When he got home, he helped him open the car door and drove back to his room.
But staying in the house every day is not the way, the birds yearn for the sky, so the old man built a bird nest for Marina on the roof. The old man is responsible for collecting the branches, Marina is responsible for the construction, and also creates an exclusive passage for it, and Marina flaps her wings and can go to the roof bird's nest to soak up the sun. Marina, who moved to a new house for the first time, happily made the sound of machine guns. Afraid of its heat in the summer, the old man also built a pergola for it on the nest. In this way, one person and one bird form a warm family.
Time flies, so that nine years have passed in a flash. In the spring of 2002, a wonderful fate fell from the sky, and a male stork landed at Marina's nest. The two white storks fell in love at first sight, and the old man was also very happy, and the daughter finally married, and the old man renovated the nest for them in order to show that it was twice as big as before, as a dowry for the children. He also named the male stork Ak, who knew that Marina's wings were problematic, but he didn't mind and was responsible for giving Marina fish every day. Every day, Marina leans on Ake's side with a bird of honor, her face full of happiness.
After a while, they ushered in the crystallization of love. Hatched a litter of small white storks. The old man was happy for a long time, and finally became a grandfather. Ak flew in and out every day to forage for food, feeding Marina and the little baby, and the little white storks did not live up to the hard work of their parents, and each one grew up healthily. The wings are getting fuller and fuller, and the old man is also worried that this special group of grandchildren has not eaten enough, and occasionally gives them extra meals. Slowly, the little white storks grew up and left home to find their own home. Only the two of them were left to live with each other, but surprisingly, Ak suddenly disappeared.
A few days passed, and Ak did not appear again, leaving Only Marina looking at the sky alone, this winter was really cold, the family was gone, and the cold wind was howling. The old man took it to the warm house, and in order not to make it sad, he showed it a video of him being with Acker and the children before, and helped him survive the days of lost love. The old man went for a walk with Marina in order to help marina recover her mood, but Marina's mood was still so bad that she didn't even eat. Seeing that it was losing weight day by day, the old man could only forcibly fill it with fish to eat.
Winter turned to spring, and just when everyone had forgotten Ake's negative sweat, a huge black shadow appeared in the sky to break through the tranquility. When the dark shadow slowly landed, gradually becoming clear to everyone's eyes, Ak had actually returned, and all those who knew the situation were stunned. Every spring after that, everyone watched the sky together and looked forward to Acker's return, and in the 15 years from the spring of 2002 to 2016, no matter how much suffering he experienced, Acker would always return as promised.
