New Garden Spider
Neoscona sp
New Garden Spider genus, belonging to the arthropod phylum, arachnids, spider order, garden spider family, new garden spider genus. It inhabits dense vegetation, often weaving circular cobwebs between branches or shrubs, and catching insects flying in the air in the same way as waiting for rabbits. Photo taken in Pu'er.
This is actually a spider! I believe that friends who see this photo will not help but marvel. The spiders described in this issue are a species of the genus Neogarinum. Unlike many of the spiders of the genus Xinyuan, its body color is relatively single, its cephalothorax, abdomen and walking feet are black, there is a funnel-like area on the cephalothorax that is covered with white villi, there is a pair of irregular white markings near the cephalothorax, and there are regular gray-white stripes on the walking feet.
Interestingly, the spider in the picture has a very close distance between the two pairs of walking feet in front and the two pairs of walking feet in the back, like the hands and feet of an orangutan, coupled with its dark body color and the thick white fluff on the head and chest, so that it inadvertently imitates the male silver-backed gorilla, but interestingly, the imitator is a female like a fake bag.
Adult males of the genus Xinyuan spider have almost no venom-secreting anchovies (commonly known as poisonous fangs), and the main task is to mate with females to breed the next generation, but females are at least four times or even larger than males, so in mating males are easily eaten by hungry and brutal females, and it takes considerable luck to survive.
