On June 1, 1940, the Battle of June 1 began, and this time the battle was extremely fierce. At that time, the six detachments of the New Fourth Army held a rally to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the "May Thirtieth" massacre in Xinxingji, Woyang County, and the Japanese army suddenly launched an attack on the border area in five ways in an attempt to eliminate the New Fourth Army. Peng Xuefeng saw that the commander was in danger and immediately led his troops to launch a counterattack. The crazy enemy struck all the way to the location of the team headquarters and burned the auditorium.
