Real Madrid have confirmed they have reached an agreement to sign France international Aurelian Gioameno from Monaco. The 22-year-old became one of the most exciting midfielders last season, attracting the interest of most of Europe's top clubs.
In fact, it was understood that Aurelian Chuameno had reached personal terms with Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, but he was quick to make it clear that he preferred to join Real Madrid, which also met his requirements, and eventually reached a €100 million deal with Monaco.
The move was officially confirmed, with Real Madrid revealing that Chuameno had signed a six-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. The club statement read: "Real Madrid and Monaco have agreed on the transfer of player Aurelian Chuameno and he will remain in touch with the club for the next six seasons.
"Next Tuesday, 14 June, at 12:00, at Real Madrid City, the award ceremony for Aurelian Chuameno as the new Real Madrid player will take place after the corresponding medical examination." Aurelian Chuamini will then appear in front of the media. "As a defensive midfielder or a traditional midfielder, Chuamini is expected to rotate alongside Casemiro and provide cover for Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, as well as Eduardo Camaringa and Federico Valverde.
Chuameno became Real Madrid's second signing this summer, following Antonio Rudiger, who joined on a free transfer from Chelsea earlier this month. Real Madrid are now expected to focus on offloading fringe players, including Denis Sebolos, LukaJović and Mariano Diaz.
