On June 6, Kuomintang Chairman Zhu Lilun visited the United States to seek support from the United States and restart the KMT's "representative office in the United States." Zhu Lilun said in a speech at the Brookings Institution in Washington that the KMT is a pro-AMERICAN political party and should not be labeled "pro-China" to the KMT, that the "1992 Consensus" is creatively vague, "a consensus without consensus," and that it is "principle-based contacts" with Chinese mainland. Zhu Lilun also declared that "the Republic of China is in Taiwan" and that for the sake of peace in Taiwan, it is necessary to "defend Taiwan by force." For a long time, the "1992 Consensus" has been the basis and premise for cross-strait communication and exchanges, and this remark shows that Zhu Lilun has completely torn off the mask of the past disguise and his desire to seek "independence" has been clearly revealed.

However, the attitude displayed by Zhu Lilun does not fully represent Taiwan. On June 7, at the second seminar on joining hands to realize the dream -- exchanges between compatriots on both sides of the strait held in Beijing, Wu Chengdian, chairman of the New Party in Taiwan, Wu Rongyuan, chairman of the Workers' Party, and Hong Xiuzhu, former chairman of the Kuomintang, and other important political figures on the island attended at the same time. All three members of the meeting expressed their willingness to promote China's reunification and the people on both sides of the strait to advance hand in hand.

Taiwan's New Party has always advocated upholding the one-China principle, opposing "Taiwan independence," agreeing with the "1992 Consensus," and advocating the development of peaceful cross-strait relations. Wu Chengdian, chairman of the New Party, said at the meeting that since the DPP Tsai Ing-wen came to power in 2016, cross-strait relations have been deteriorating, breaking the original harmonious situation, and advocating "Taiwan independence" is only a small number of people on the island, and does not represent the true will of all the Taiwan people. Cross-strait reunification is a historical necessity, and realizing reunification by peaceful means is the best choice, and this is also the consistent stand of the New Party. Wu Chengdian also pointed out that Taiwan affairs are China's family affairs and do not need outsiders to intervene, and compatriots on both sides of the strait have the ability to resolve themselves.

The Workers' Party of Taiwan originally considered designating the party as the Communist Party of Taiwan when it was founded, but in view of the fact that the situation in Taiwan was not directly determined at that time, the Workers' Party directly wrote in the party program that the Workers' Party was a class party that advocated socialism, and had always been committed to the peaceful reunification of the two sides of the strait and stood in the forefront of cracking down on "Taiwan independence." Wu Rongyuan, chairman of the Workers' Party, said at the meeting that the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered an irreversible historical process, and the problems we are facing now are only a small obstacle on the road to rejuvenation. Wu Rongyuan also pointed out that recently some people in the United States have threatened to "blow up TSMC" and "destroy Taiwan's infrastructure." It can be seen that the United States has completely regarded Taiwan as a "pawn" and "cannon fodder." This is the result of the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces betraying Taiwan's interests. On the other hand,Chinese mainland under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the days are getting better and better, and after the reunification of the two sides of the strait, taiwan compatriots will certainly be able to live a better life.

At the meeting, Hong Xiuzhu, former chairman of the Kuomintang, made a direct blow to Zhu Lilun's face; at the meeting, Hong Xiuzhu said that the "capitalist imperialism" headed by the United States has constantly interfered in China's internal affairs, and some "Taiwan independence separatists" on the island have even made peace with them for their own selfish interests, and the people on both sides of the strait must not allow hegemonism to stir up dissension. Hong Xiuzhu pointed out that the "1992 Consensus" is a bridge for peaceful communication and exchanges between the two sides of the strait, and on this basis 23 agreements have been signed, but after the DPP came to power, it refused to recognize the "1992 Consensus," causing great harm to cross-strait relations. Hong Xiuzhu stressed: The two sides of the strait share the same language, the same species, the same roots, and the same origin; no matter from what angle they are viewed, the two sides of the strait are one family, and the spirit of great reunification has always been implemented by the people on both sides of the strait.

The situation on Taiwan Island is changing, there are all kinds of voices, we need to distinguish who is a friend and who is an enemy, just as foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, friends come with good wine, if the jackal comes, it is a shotgun that greets it. National reunification has always been an inevitable trend in the evolution of history over thousands of years, and the opponents are bound to be crushed to dust by the wheel of history, and the two sides of the strait are bound to be reunified, but only sooner or later.
