The original part reads as follows:

One day, seven blind rats found a strange thing by the pond, and they were startled, what is this? Then hurried back home.

On Monday, the Red Mouse was the first to come out and wanted to "see" what was going on.

"It's a big pillar." Red Mouse said

But no one believed his words.

On Tuesday, it was Green Mouse, and he came out second.

"It's a snake". Green Mouse said.

"Not really!" The yellow rats that came out Wednesday said.

"It's a spear." Yellow Mouse said. He was the third rat to come out.

On Thursday, it was the purple mouse's turn.

"It's a cliff." He said.

On Friday, it was Orange Mouse, and he was the fifth to come out.

"It's a fan," he cried, "I think it's still fanning!" ”

The sixth one that came out was the Blue Mouse.

He went on Saturday and he said, "Nothing, just a rope." ”

The other rats disagreed, and they began to quarrel.

"It's a snake"

"It's a rope"

"It's a fan"

"It's a cliff"

It wasn't until Sunday, when it was the turn of the white rats, that he was the seventh to go to the pond.

The white rat ran from this side of the strange thing to the other side, and from the top of the strange thing to the bottom.

"Ha," said the white rat, "now I know, this strange thing—

Hard like a pillar, soft like a snake, wide like a cliff, pointed like a spear, thin like a fan, thick like a rope, but well, together, this strange thing is - an elephant! ”

The red rat, the green mouse, the yellow mouse, the purple mouse, the orange mouse, and the blue mouse all ran from one side of the elephant to the other side, and from the top to the bottom. Only then did they believe the white rat's words.
