On the afternoon of May 22, local time in Mali, the ninth batch of Chinese peacekeeping medical detachments to Mali successfully rescued one Niger injured by an explosion.

At 14:20, the medical detachment received a notice that a Niger soldier was involved in a fire extinguisher explosion accident while carrying out a fire extinguishing mission, and suffered serious blast injuries to his left forearm, left hand and left leg, and was transported by helicopter from the Ansungo camp to the Chinese secondary hospital for emergency treatment.

The command group of the medical detachment immediately activated the emergency treatment plan, and the air transport evacuation team rushed to the airport with first aid equipment to receive the wounded. The medical staff rushed to the medical area at the behest of the order and quickly began all preoperative preparations.

After evaluation of the injury, the initial diagnosis was an explosion injury, multiple open fractures throughout the body, and hemorrhagic shock. After a series of preoperative examinations were performed on the injured, at about 19:00, the medical staff of the surgical group performed injury control surgery on the injured, debridement and suturing of multiple open comminuted fractures throughout the body, needle fixation, left elbow dislocation closure reduction and other surgical treatment.

Due to the large amount of blood loss after the injury of the injured, the occurrence of sustained hypotension, decreased heart rate, metabolic acidosis and hyperkalemia during the operation, the emergency and critical care doctors, anesthesiologists immediately rescued the injured, after rescuing the injured to turn the crisis into safety, at 23:40 the operation ended, the injured were sent to the intensive care unit for further treatment.

At 0:25 the next day, the injured person's heart rate dropped, and the medical staff rescued the wounded again, and at about 2:00 a.m., the wounded gradually improved and the rescue was successful. At 8:40 a.m., the injured person's vital signs were stable, his consciousness was clear, he resumed spontaneous breathing, the indicators were generally normal, and he was sent to Bamako for further treatment according to the procedure.

After a night of all-out rescue by medical staff, the wounded were successfully retaken from the hands of the "God of Death". "If you can save the lives of friendly troops, no matter how tired you are, it is worth it!" They took off their protective suits, and the sweat had already soaked through their clothes.
