Walden is a collection of essays by the American writer Thoreau. I love this book, which is Thoreau's solitary account of Walden Lake, depicting what he saw, heard, and thought over the course of more than two years.
Like Thoreau, I am also a person who advocates simple life and loves the natural scenery, and I also have a "Walden Lake" in my heart, which is the mountain near my home - The Mountain of All Souls.
Before I retired, my new home moved to the current Jinan South City, when I bought a house, we did not notice that there was this Wanling Mountain nearby, and I chose this place mainly because my husband was close to work.
When I went to work, I went early and returned late every day, coming and going in a hurry. After retiring, I had the right to free time and began to respect my inner pursuits.
I'm an early riser, and I'm a guy who likes to get up early to exercise, and every morning is when my heart is at its quietest and when I enjoy it the most. There are many mountains around my home, there are Quanzi Mountain, Junzi Mountain, Yuhan Mountain, Gulou Peak, Wanling Mountain, Xiaodong Mountain, Double Peak, Mawuzhai and other nearly a dozen mountains, for more than two years, these mountains I have climbed many times one by one, all year round, spring, summer, autumn and winter scenery are one by one to appreciate, these mountains climbing difficulty, natural scenery are different, each time I travel through a mountain, I will write down my own mountain travel experience and feelings, finally, comprehensive factors to consider, the nearest to my home this Wanling Mountain is my favorite, it is my heart "Walden Lake" 。
Wanling Mountain is a thousand meters away from my home, every morning after I get up, I open the curtains to the northeast to see the weather, if I see a red glow, I will grasp the washing, run to wanling mountain to see the sunrise. From winter to summer, I took countless sunrise photos, and my husband called me "the person who chases the sunrise every day", in fact, not only sunrise, but also sunset.
I come to the mountains almost every morning to watch the sunrise, listen to the birds, watch the flowers blossom and fall, see the blue sky and green trees, and come to the mountains every day, and the harvest is full. The body is freely moving, or climbing a mountain, or jogging, exercising the body, strengthening the body. The soul has been relaxed and satisfied, every day with the green mountains as a companion, and flowers and plants as friends, here, I seem to have returned to childhood, returned to my true nature, I seem to have found myself, found the life I wanted, found the peace I wanted, I no longer follow the standards of the world to chase, I like to live according to my nature.
Thoreau's own practice at Walden and his work have a consistent proposition of returning to nature. He constantly pointed out in his works that most of us modern people are trapped by family, work and various material needs, lose their spiritual pursuits, and live a materialistic life. This situation still exists today and is getting worse. We have many people who pay little attention to things outside of trivial personal interests and activities. Many people's mental activities are too limited, concerned only with material life and sensual enjoyment, and in Thoreau's words, our life cannot be called "real life."
My "Walden" does not require me to live alone in the mountains, I throw myself into the arms of my "Walden" every morning, the Wanling Mountain, full of the pure beauty of nature, enriching the inner spirit, and at the same time I can arrange my life normally every day.
I am very lucky that I found the "Walden Lake" that I pursued in my heart, found a life that can satisfy me to go into nature and appreciate the return of nature to the truth, this life is simple and rich, both simple and luxurious, cherish my "Walden Lake", chase my ideals, live the life I want to live, and live the way I want to live.
