Aasha is a small Female Tiger of Bengal, born around 2010. During its first four months of life, it was kept in captivity by humans, forced to travel with a touring circus, and bitten by other tigers in the process; on March 25, 2011, Aasha was finally rescued and cared for at the In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue Center, a texas-based nonprofit. When Aasha, the founder of the rescue center, saw the little tiger, Vicky Keahey said: "Aasha's bald spots and skin ringworm are all over the body, the skin is dry and cracked, and some of the blackened areas are still bleeding." ”

Aasha, who had just arrived at the rescue center, was about 9 months old, and the normal Bengal tiger weighed about 54 kilograms, while Aasha weighed only 16 kilograms.

For 1 consecutive month, the rescue center gave Aasha two drugs and chased Aasha to soak her in a medicated bath every day to treat skin diseases. The little tiger initially resented the medicinal bath, but then slowly accepted it; at the same time, Aasha's condition also improved greatly.

Later, Aasha was introduced to a male tiger named Smuggler, "Smuggle was crazy for it, always showing off in front of Aasha." The rescue center staff said.

After 8 months, Aasha regained her health, turned into a real, healthy tigress, and loved to take a bath. Most tigers also naturally prefer to live near water sources, almost "half aquatic creatures", which is the opposite of the nature of most cats to hate wet bodies, and some people even think that tigers are not cats at all, but canines.

The evolution of tigers dates back about 2 million years,

Since ancient times, it has been a symbol of beauty and strength;

There are fewer than 4,000 wild tigers in the world.

This figure was more than 100,000 at the beginning of the 20th century,

The decline rate in the past century has reached 96%.

A century ago, tiger territory spread over a vast area from Turkey to the Russian Far East, inhabiting tens of thousands of tigers in the wilderness of Asia alone; after entering the 20th century, humans occupied natural space and poaching rampantly, resulting in a great decline in the number of wild tigers and their habitats; since the 1940s, bari tigers, Caspian tigers, and Javan tigers have become extinct. Of the approximately 4,000 wild tigers in existence, about half are Bengal tigers.

Siberian tigers, also known as Siberian tigers and Amur tigers, were endangered in the mid-20th century; today, there are 400-500 wild Siberian tigers living in Russia, 20-30 in China, and probably still found on the Korean Peninsula. The population recovery of the Siberian tiger offers a glimmer of hope for the future of all wild tigers. A female Siberian tiger can produce 15 cubs in a lifetime; in Russia's vast Far East, it also has the world's largest and most complete tiger habitat; in addition, there are few human populations, tigers feed on large deer and wild boar, the Largest Siberian Tiger is the largest, more than 3 meters long and weighs more than 300 kilograms.

Genetic studies have suggested that the Indochinese tiger may be the ancestor of all tigers, with other tiger subspecies branching out from the Inchinese tiger about 108,000-72,000 years ago. Today, only about 300 Indochinese tigers live in the wild.

About 500 wild Malayan tigers live on the southern tip of the Peninsula, but the rainforest they inhabit is dwindling. As farms and human open programs expand, wild Malayan tigers come into conflict with humans, and when they prey on livestock, they are retaliated against and killed by humans.

In a 1978 survey, more than 1,000 Sumatran tigers were found wandering around the Indonesian island of Sumatra; today, less than half of the Sumatran tigers have survived due to the local palm oil and paper industries, coupled with poacher attacks. A 2004 report by the International Wildlife Trade Research Organization (TRAFFIC) showed that poachers kill at least 40 already critically endangered Sumatran tigers each year.

In 1986, a young South China tiger in Anren County, Hunan, China, was captured by iron hammers. He died of his injuries 15 days later. This may be the last time humans will see a wild South China tiger. In 2021, China has successfully bred more than 200 South China tigers, and efforts continue.

Many governments made historic pledges in 2010, the year Global Tiger Day was established, to double the number of tigers by 2022. Reject tiger products and tiger performances, protect wild tiger habitats, and strive to achieve the goal of doubling the global tiger as soon as possible!
