It's been 9 years since they were all "stopped", are you still doing this test for your baby?

Reject trace element detection and save the old mother's wallet!

Businessmen often say that "women and children's money is the easiest to earn". And the old mothers who open this article should be the same as me, although they do not agree with this sentence, but let the old mothers choose between a high-end silk dress and a child's off-campus make-up tuition, we will all choose the latter!

After giving birth to a baby, "you can't suffer the baby yourself" is the most reasonable saying of the old mother. All the new things around with the slogan of eating, wearing, living and traveling with the slogan of the baby, the old mothers are also flocking to it.

No, trace element detection has also become a hot topic. Girlfriends for her baby, husband's leader for his second treasure, mother for her old sister's granddaughter all came to ask me questions about trace element testing.

By the way, there are also parents who ask me such questions in the outpatient clinic. I also questioned three times...

Well, how could dr. Jasmine, though greasy in middle age, be professional and give up any questions about anything new about your baby?

I searched for a treasure and found that there are really such so-called testing instruments, and the price varies from high to low, as shown in the following figure:

Figure 3 Source network

I've even found this kind of instrument, which can detect results by holding or holding it. May I ask the seller, are you going to play a double-cut stick?

And this, suspension thread pulse? Seller, what are you doing here?

Well, back to the point, why would Dr. Jasmine, a professional childcare student, scoff at this "trace element detection"?

Because as early as 2013, the Health and Family Planning Commission made it clear that "trace element detection should not be used as a census item such as physical examination, especially for infants under 6 months." Medical institutions that carry out trace element testing in children in violation of regulations will be dealt with in accordance with laws and regulations. ”

Therefore, the official has not recommended, the regular public hospital will not be carried out, you relatives do not come to the three consecutive questions Ha.

First, what are trace elements?

Trace elements are only a part of micronutrients, which include minerals and various vitamins, while minerals include macronutrients and trace elements.

  • Macro elements (or macro elements) refer to chemical elements that account for more than 0.01% of body weight, such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, sulfur, and phosphorus.
  • Trace elements refer to some chemical elements that account for less than 0.01% of body weight and are necessary for the human body, such as iron, zinc, copper, iodine, selenium, and manganese.

Interject:

If someone gives you a baby checklist that says calcium deficiency, iron deficiency, zinc deficiency, etc. for trace element detection, you can give him an awkward but polite smile directly.

Because calcium is not a trace element, it is a constant element! Of course, you can also give him a letter of complaint with your backhand...

Second, the inspection is out, but it does not mean that it is necessarily lacking!

We then talk about another paragraph of the official recommendation of the Above Health and Family Planning Commission: "According to the regulations, hospitals can carry out targeted trace element detection according to the clinical symptoms of children, but to standardize the operation and preservation process of blood collection technology, the instruments and equipment used should be approved by the food and drug regulatory authorities." ”

There is also a sentence that is not complete, that is, "the test results cannot be used as the basis for clinical diagnosis, but can only be a reference." How to understand these words?

1 Detection method

Take a piece of baby's hair as a test specimen, although sampling is convenient, but the hair is affected by a variety of factors such as cleanliness, hair quality, individual growth and development degree and environmental pollution, and even residual shampoo will interfere with the test results. Therefore, the clinical value of the results obtained by the hair detection method is very limited, and at most it can represent the difference between the shampoo of a certain xuan and a certain treasure.

Blood is taken through the baby's fingers, and during the blood collection process, there will be intermingling with tissue fluid or external elements of the same kind, resulting in low results or sample contamination, and the clinical value is limited.

To more accurately reflect the content of each element in the plasma, only blood is taken through the vein, and the interference factors in the blood collection process of this detection method are relatively small.

Therefore, to detect all kinds of elements, NO hair, NO fingers, NO double truncated sticks, NO suspension wire pulse, JUST vein blood collection, understand?

2 Even if it is found, it is not possible to determine whether the baby is really missing a certain type of element.

Because the various elements are not evenly distributed in the human body, and most of the elements are rarely found in the blood. Therefore, even if the content of various elements in the blood is detected by drawing venous blood, it cannot be used to determine whether the baby is really missing a certain type of element. Like what:

■ 99% of the calcium in the human body is present in bones and teeth, and the remaining 1% of calcium is often present in soft tissues, extracellular fluid and blood in a bound or free ionic state, which is what is known in medicine as "miscible calcium pool". Among them, the content of blood calcium in the body is less than 1%.

■ Iron in the body is divided into stored iron and functional iron. Iron storage is in both ferritin and hemotexanthin in the liver, reticuloendothelial cells, and bone marrow. Most functional iron is present in the form of heme proteins, such as hemoglobin and myoglobin.

■ Zinc is one of the components of enzymes in the human body, mainly distributed in all tissues, organs, body fluids and secretions of the human body. About 60% of zinc is stored in muscles, 30% in bones (zinc in bones is not easily used passively), and the amount in the blood is very small, less than 0.5% of the total zinc amount.

■ In the human body, 50% to 70% of the copper is distributed in the muscles and bones, 20% is distributed in the liver, and only 5% to 10% is distributed in the blood (the copper in the blood is mainly distributed between the cells and plasma).

Therefore, through a little bit of venous blood testing, a lost value is obtained, which represents the nutritional status of trace elements or macro elements in the baby's body, which is inaccurate and of little clinical significance!

But the old mothers are still worried! You listen to Dr. Jasmine, as long as you ensure that your baby eats a normal diet every day, you can fully meet the needs of your child's development.

Third, the baby of the normal diet, don't worry too much!

The old mother asked again, how can it be a normal diet? Is there a reference?

Coming here, the Maternal and Child Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society revised and released the "Key Recommended Schematic Diagram of the Balanced Diet Pagoda of Chinese Women and Children/ Infant Breastfeeding Guidelines" in 2018, and the dry goods are here:

Let the dry goods come more violently...

You see, these are all for the baby to eat, there is no need to worry about the lack of this and that.

Dear, listen to my advice, don't spend money to measure trace elements for the baby, go out and turn right in the mall, buy the beautiful dress that you have been concerned about for a long time, wear it in front of the child's father and turn around, love yourself to love life! Did you say yes or no?

When is there really a shortage of trace elements?

Of course, there are two sides of the flower, everything is not absolute, and there are indeed diseases caused by the lack of corresponding trace elements in the clinic, such as enteropathic acrodermatitis. This is a rare hereditary zinc deficiency, clinical manifestations of "acrodermatitis, hair loss, diarrhea" and other symptoms, the detection of zinc content is very low, zinc supplementation can indeed be used as a means of treatment.

But don't worry, the clinically diagnosed trace element deficiency diseases need to be confirmed by the clinical specialist on the basis of detailed medical history assessment and physical examination, and select different test methods and laboratory indicators for further testing according to the needs. Therefore, it is the best way to go to a regular hospital in time!

Well, after half a day, I hope that the article written by Dr. Jasmine will inspire all the old mothers!

I am ready to change the topic again, such as "one of the 10 things that the doctor does not tell you" or "He came home late at night and saw his wife do this..." Sent to the family group to let the family also pay attention to it, but I don't know if I will be kicked out of the group...

Ahaha, you say?
