On May 27, 1942, Heydrich, then Governor of nazi Germany to the Bohemian-Moravian Protectorate and director of the Security Bureau of the Reich of Nazi Germany, was assassinated by Czech agents sent by the British, injuring his chest and abdomen, and the assassination was "Operation Apes".
