In the hot land of Chengdong, the third operation team wrote a new record of "seven openings and seven finishes in one day" in Shengli Oilfield.

In 1970, the geological exploration work of Shengli Oilfield was carried out in full swing. The oilfield party committee named three teams to operate and selected elite soldiers and strong generals to form a surprise detachment to go to the Chengdong Oilfield, which is close to the Bohai Desert Beach, to rush to the oil test operation. They were a team that was played in the Battle of Daqing, and was once known as the "Five Excellent Benchmarking Team", and they were ordered to go south to participate in the Battle of Shengli Oilfield.

In the Shengli oil field, there was such a steel work team

Pack your backpack and go

They happily accepted the task. On July 27, 1970, 20 luggage rolls, an iron bucket nest, and 20 young and strong boys got into the car together and, under the leadership of technician Ren Guihe, marched to the deserted Chengdong oil field. Tiangong is really not beautiful, the car just traveled to the county seat of Zhanhua, and suddenly it rained "ma pole rain". Since the weather was sunny when they set off, they did not bring any rain gear, and after a while, they all became "fallen soup chickens", and the luggage was wet inside and out.

In order to buy time, they sent two pathfinding teams to avoid the ditches and waterholes as much as possible, and pushed the car forward. At 7 p.m., after the call of their group of "fallen soup chickens", the car finally arrived at the camp of their assault squad. Their "barracks" are simple houses that migrant workers have just built with reed foil in the morning, because of the rain, there is no mud, the four walls are ventilated, the roof is seen in the sky, and the room is full of rain. Unloading the luggage, the technician Ren Guihe and the squad leader Li Baocai first thought about the problem of eating for everyone. All day long, they were drenched on the road, not eating or drinking. In this deserted place, there are only a few simple houses, and not even a single dry firewood can be found. How to cook? There was no way, so I scooped a few bowls of rainwater from the pit and nibbled on two hard nests each.

At night, the roof is dripping and leaking rain, making it difficult for people to live; clusters of mosquitoes take turns to attack them, and one grab is a handful. The 20 of them huddled together, silently enduring the torment of fatigue and drowsiness, and hurriedly driving away the "fierce and vicious" mosquitoes, and all night, none of them could close their eyes safely and steadily. In this way, they camped in this desolate and lonely land and began the arduous oil testing work.

Fear the danger of devouring

Sea tides, wind and sand, and mosquitoes are known as the "three pests" in Chengdong. If they can still deal with wind and sand and mosquitoes, they can't do anything about the first of the "three pests", the tide. On August 21, 1970, less than a month after their arrival in Chengdong, they were hit by a tidal wave. On this day, before dawn, it rained a drizzle of cattle called "sea yards" by local villagers, and the northeast wind whistled, one after another.

At 11 a.m., they were working on well 2. The "sea code" swirled with the wind, and the dark and heavy sky was wet and foggy. Suddenly, the data officer Cao Jintai pointed to the northeast and shouted in panic: "What is that?" They looked in the direction of his finger, only to see a few hundred meters away, a group of "white sheep" with the howling wind, running towards the well.

"Tide! Tide! Everyone exclaimed in unison. Despite all the difficulties and hardships these lads, they were really nervous in the face of this endless tide. "Don't be afraid! Quickly fall down the rope of the well-passing machine and clean up the well field! Li Baocai, the one-meter-tall northeast Han and squad leader, calmly commanded. They quickly fell down the rope, loaded the pipe tongs, lifting cards and various tools into a square water tank, and drove the well machine to climb the "commanding height" of the well site - a pile of drilled rock chips.

The northeast wind of seven or eight levels blew violently, and the splashing waves rushed towards the well field. The commanding heights beneath their feet soon became "islands" in the sea. The wind pushed the sea and slammed hard under their feet, and the waves splashed more than 1 meter high. A dozen or so of them sat on the well machine, dressed in soaked clothes, starving and freezing, and persisted until noon the next day, when the northeast wind gradually weakened and the sea slowly receded.

In the day and night of the siege of the sea tide, several of them tough guys, facing the danger of being swallowed up by the sea at any time, thought of dying, nostalgic for life, and wandered many times in the thought of life and death, but more importantly, how to overcome the difficulties in front of them and complete the tasks entrusted to them by their superiors. None of them was sad, no one shed tears, but they cared for each other, encouraged each other, and from time to time excitedly shouted: "Make up your mind, not afraid of sacrifice, overcome all difficulties, and strive for victory!" "Use Chairman Mao's words to motivate your own will and strengthen your confidence in overcoming difficulties."

The great honor is well deserved

In nearly a year, they successfully completed the oil test operation tasks assigned to them by their superiors, such as Cheng 1, Cheng 2, Cheng 3, and Cheng 6, and were ordered to withdraw to the garrison on May 19 of the following year.

At the end of 1971, Chengdong drilled a batch of new wells, and it was predicted that the production of single wells would not be low. After hearing the news, on the grounds of familiarity with the underground situation, they asked the leaders of the oilfield for battle, and formed a 18-man detachment, and on January 12, 1972, they went to Chengdong for the second time. At this time, it was the cold season, thousands of miles of ice, and the salt and alkali beaches of white flowers in front of me were full of solid ice puddles.

But their hearts are like carrying a fire, eager to immediately try out the high-yield well and report the good news to the superior leaders. On January 16, 1972, they moved up to the Chengsi Well, and the heavens seemed to come against them again, and overnight it fell a heavy snow half a meter deep. As the saying goes, "Snow doesn't make snow cold". On the 17th, the northwest wind blew, and the sky gradually cleared, but the temperature dropped to minus 31 degrees Celsius, which brought great difficulties to the construction.

The weather is too cold, more than a dozen people take turns to work at the wellhead, half an hour down, all frozen purple blue, hands do not put under the insulation sleeve of the well machine do not want to take off the gloves, the feet are frozen like needles and pain, even if you rest, you have to stand still. The tubing arrived, but the car couldn't get into the well. There was no way, a dozen of them had to step on the kneeless snow, pulling and dragging, people lifted shoulders, and carried 178 tubing to the well.

In order to grab time and compete for speed, Ren Guihe endured the pain of sciatic neuritis, and the squad leader Fang Zhenhong ate and lived in the well to organize production, hungry to nibble a nest with ice stubble, trapped in the power generation room to take a nap. Under their leadership, 18 of them ate the head of the ice nest, on the snow, tenaciously fought for 5 days and nights, and finally took the 4 wells on the 21st, and used 8 mm oil nozzles to produce, producing 120 tons of crude oil per day. Looking at the oil dragon roaring out from the depths of the formation, their hearts blossomed!

Immediately afterward, they completed the oil test tasks of the Cheng5, Cheng 14 and Cheng 16 wells, of which the Cheng 5 well produced 180 tons of crude oil per day. The oilfield command sent them a congratulatory message. Liu Peirong, secretary of the oilfield party committee, rushed to see them. Liu Peirong excitedly shook their hands and said, "Great hardships, great glory, small hardships and small glories." You deserve great glory! Saying that their hearts were warm, one by one they shed tears.

Three months later, under the leadership of captain He Furong and instructor Chen Yanfu, the whole team advanced from the Beizhen No. 1 branch to the Chengdong oil field. Since then, he has settled down on the virgin land of Chengdong.

At the beginning of March 1973, Shengli Oilfield organized the Chengdong production conference. In the battle, they carried forward the traditional style, fought tenaciously, and in the case of the shortage of special vehicles, they launched the soil method, made a small crane of the well-penetrating machine, welded the moving plough and 6 square water tanks, and created the "four don'ts" - the vertical derrick should not be installed, the moving should not be a crane truck, the construction should not be a boiler truck, and the well should not be washed without a water tank truck. They carried out cross-construction and handed over 7 qualified wells in 24 hours of high quality and high speed, creating a new record of "seven openings and seven completions in one day" for the underground operation of Shengli Oilfield.

The operation team worked tenaciously in the young land of Chengdong Oilfield, exceeding the production task with an average of 150% of the excellent results every year, and was awarded the glorious titles of "Advanced Collective of Xue daqing", "Double Civilization Benchmarking Unit", "Courageous and Tenacious Operation Team" and "Steel Operation Team" by the Hekou Command, the Shengli Oilfield Battle Command and the Ministry of Petroleum for many times.
