The Embassy in Brazil issued a notice on adjusting the requirements for pre-departure testing and isolation

author:China News Network

According to the WeChat public account of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, in order to further do a good job in the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and reduce the risk of infection, starting from May 19, 2022 (inclusive), the following adjustments will be made to the pre-departure testing and isolation of passengers traveling to China from Brazil:

1. Cancel serum-specific IgM antibody detection. Antibody testing is no longer required for all populations, including those who have not been vaccinated or are not fully vaccinated, fully vaccinated, or non-vaccinated.

2. Cancel the requirement for lung imaging examination of persons with a history of previous infection.

3. Shorten the closed-loop management time before boarding. The closed-loop time for personnel of Chinese-funded institutions (except those returning from charter flights of central enterprises) and temporary business travelers has been adjusted to 10 days.

4. The crew who landed in Brazil will cancel the 14-day quarantine requirement before taking the plane to China, and implement the same prevention and control standards as ordinary people coming to China.

According to the above adjustments, the specific arrangements for the pre-departure testing of personnel traveling to China from Brazil are hereby updated, and all passengers are requested to carefully read this notice and handle it accordingly.

First, the test requirements

All passengers traveling to China from Brazil, regardless of whether they have completed the COVID-19 vaccination, apply for a health code with materials such as the negative certificate of "double nucleic acid". Among them, the first nucleic acid test sampling time must be within 48 hours (2 days) before boarding from the bus, and the second nucleic acid test sampling time must be within 12 hours before boarding (strictly according to the flight departure time backwards). For example, if the departure time of a departing flight is 19:20 on Saturday night, the first nucleic acid test time should be after Thursday (inclusive) and the second nucleic acid test time should be after 07:20 on Saturday morning.

2. Testing institutions

In principle, the two nucleic acid tests are carried out at designated testing institutions in the same consular area (if it is the same institution, the interval of 24 hours is required), and apply for a health code from the corresponding embassy or consulate. If your area does not have the above dual nucleic acid detection and sampling conditions or due to time constraints, you can go to the main transit airports in Brazil as soon as possible after completing the first nucleic acid test sample in your local area, such as São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), Brasilia Kubicecek International Airport (BSB), Rio de Janeiro Galeón International Airport (GIG) designated testing agencies for the second nucleic acid test sample within 12 hours before boarding.

Special reminder: In order to ensure the accuracy of test results and avoid a run on testing resources, the first nucleic acid test should not be carried out at the airport testing agency in principle. If a passenger uploads a nucleic acid test report from two different institutions at the airport on the same day when applying for a code, the embassy or consulate will not issue the code.

If there are suspected symptoms during the closed-loop management period, the trip should be suspended immediately and the medical treatment should be consulted in time.
