Cixi Yehenara clan Xingzhen, nicknamed Xing'er, entered the palace in 1852 at the age of 17, because the Xianfeng Emperor liked orchids and was named Lan Guiren, lost her father at the age of 19 and was promoted to Yi Concubine at the age of 20, in 1856 she was promoted to Yi Concubine for the Xianfeng Emperor, who gave birth to the emperor's eldest son Ai Xinjue Luo Zaichun (Tongzhi Emperor), at the age of 23, she was promoted to Yi Guifei, and after the xianfeng Emperor died in 1861, she was honored with Xiao Zhenxian and the two palaces, called the Empress Dowager of the Virgin Mary, with the title of Cixi, and later joined forces with Empress Dowager Ci'an (i.e., Xiao Zhen) Prince Gong Yi to launch a coup d'état. He commanded the eight ministers to seize power and formed a pattern of "the second palace hanging curtains, the prince deliberating on the government", and the Qing Dynasty government entered a period of calm, known in history as Tongzhi Zhongxing. In 1873, the empress dowager of the two palaces rolled up the curtains and returned to the government. In 1875, the Tongzhi Emperor died, and his nephew Ai Xinjue Luo Zaixiang succeeded the Xianfeng Grand Commandery Guangxu, and the two palaces once again bowed to the government. In 1881, Empress Dowager Ci'an died, and Cixi launched the "Jiashen Yishu" to depose Prince Gong and begin to take sole power.

In 1889, he returned to guangxu and retired to the Summer Palace, and in 1898, after the Imperial Party conspired to besiege and kill the garden in the Wushu Rebellion, Cixi launched the Wushu coup d'état, imprisoned the Guangxu Emperor and beheaded the six gentlemen of the Wushu And retrained the government. In 1900, after the Gengzi State Rebellion, the New Deal at the end of the Qing Dynasty was implemented, and the Law on Military And Commercial Studies was reformed. When the Guangxu Emperor died in 1908, Cixi chose the three-year-old Fu Yi as the new emperor, and on the same day, he was honored as the empress dowager, and on October 22 (November 15 of the solar calendar), before the time (around 2 p.m.), the 74-year-old Empress Dowager Cixi died at the Yiluan Hall and was buried in the Dongling Tomb of Bodhidharma.
