After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

author:Talk History

One day in 1994, Comrade Chen Yun, who lived a retired life of "picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence and leisurely seeing the South Mountain", received a special letter, and when he saw the signature on the envelope, his eyebrows could not help but pick.

Speaking of which, the person who wrote this letter can also be regarded as having a deep relationship with him, and is the descendant of chen Yun's former old comrade-in-arms. The problem is that the "old comrade-in-arms" is so special that it has rarely been mentioned publicly since the promulgation of the Resolution on Several Historical Questions Concerning the Party since the Founding of the People's Republic of China.

The old comrade-in-arms's surname was Lin, his name was Lin Yurong, and after joining the army, he changed his name to Lin Biao.

The person who wrote this letter was Lin Biao's daughter.

Chen Yun was also curious as to why Lin Biao's daughter would write to himself, and after tearing open the envelope and taking it out to read it, the expression on his face immediately became serious. After closing his eyes and thinking for a while in his hospital bed, Chen Yun finally made up his mind and asked his secretary to call General Hong Xuezhi.

Chen yun

Taking the microphone from the secretary's hand, Chen Yun said solemnly: "Please come to Beijing immediately, and discuss important matters." ”

So, why did Lin Biao's daughter take the initiative to write a letter to Chen Yun? Chen Yun looked for Hong Xuezhi, what did he have to explain?

Lin Biao's eldest daughter

When it comes to Lin Biao's daughter, I believe that many people must first think of Lin Biao and Ye Qun's daughter Lin Doudou (Lin Liheng). However, in fact, Lin Biao actually has another daughter, named Lin Xiaolin.

Although Lin Xiaolin is also Lin Biao's daughter, she is much more low-key than her younger siblings, and she is the child of Lin Biao's ex-wife Zhang Mei.

In 1937, Lin Biao, as the principal of kang da, took a fancy to Zhang Mei, a "flower in northern Shaanxi", and soon came together.

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

Zhang Mei

Like Ye Qun, Zhang Mei also gave birth to a son and a daughter for Lin Biao, unfortunately, because Zhang Mei was a mother for the first time, the eldest son died of improper feeding shortly after birth.

It is precisely for this reason that when Lin Xiaolin was born in the Soviet Union in 1941, Lin Biao, who really enjoyed the joy of heaven at the age of 34, was very fond of her, and he hugged his daughter hard when he had nothing to do, because he was worried that his wife would not take care of the children, he stayed by the cradle every day and took good care of her.

At that time, Lin Biao's face often had a smile on his face, which made the comrades who were accustomed to Lin Biao's "face as heavy as water" feel a little incredible.

Although he likes his daughter very much, Lin Biao and Zhang Mei do not get along very well, Zhang Mei is outgoing, likes to run around, and the taciturn Lin Biao has some personality incompatibility. The death of the eldest son of the two was always a knot in Lin Biao's heart, so that later he lost his temper on the spot after seeing his wife accidentally throw her daughter off the bed.

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

When Lin Xiaolin was four months old, Lin Biao ended his recuperation and was ordered to return to China, because he could not rest assured of his daughter, he also wrote a letter to Han Tiesheng of the Ivanovo International Children's Hospital, asking him to take care of his daughter.

Lin Biao's departure was completely unknown, the Soviet Union was in the midst of the Great Patriotic War, the conditions were extremely difficult, and Lin Xiaolin, who was sent to the Soviet Nursery School to raise, did not have the opportunity to learn Chinese. Because of this, in 1950, when she was brought back to Beijing by Gao Gang's wife Li Liqun, she could not say a word of Chinese.

Because he could not adapt to the warm weather in China, Lin Xiaolin had scabies on his head when he arrived in Beijing, shaved a large bald head for convenience, and wore a floral braji. This is also the first impression she left on her father after she reunited.

Although her daughter could not say a word of Chinese, and she had become a "small bald head", Lin Biao still loved her daughter very much and specially held her on her knee.

Lin Xiaolin and Zhang Mei

After Lin Xiaolin returned to China, he studied very hard, and it took only three years to complete all the courses in the six years of primary school, and after graduation, he was admitted to the Beijing Normal University Girls' High School.

At that time, most of the students in this school were high-ranking cadres, but at that time, the folk customs were simple, and everyone compared their academic performance, whose moral character was better, and no one would be better than their family background.

It is precisely for this reason that when the conferral of the title of General Shuai ended in 1955 and the newspaper published a photo of the Ten Marshals, everyone found that their class was really "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", and even included Lin Xiaolin, the daughter of President Lin, and Xu Xiangqian's daughter Xu Luxi.

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

In the three years of junior high school life, Lin Xiaolin's academic performance was basically all full marks, and when she graduated, she was the only student among more than 400 graduates who won the medal issued by the Municipal Education Bureau.

In 1961, Lin Xiaolin was successfully admitted to the Missile Control Major of the Harbin Military Engineering College.

A growing father-daughter conflict

Because of her stepmother's obstruction, Lin Xiaolin has rarely had the opportunity to return to Beijing since she went to the northeast, and her relationship with her father has become worse and worse. When the school was on vacation, Lin Xiaolin couldn't even go home, and could only live in Harbin or Changchun, Shenyang and other places.

Because of this, when Lin Xiaolin was about to graduate in 1966, he took the initiative to write a letter to his family, saying that he wanted to change his name and "did not want to live under the aura of his father." As a result, Lin Biao had other things to do at that time and ignored her.

Two months later, because Lin Xiaolin sided with his father in political positions, Ye Qun asked his secretary to draft a statement on behalf of Lin Biao:

"All her words and actions outside of the world do not represent me, and I am not responsible. From now on, I will break off the father-daughter relationship with her. ”

Lin Xiaolin was not aware of such a statement until she was assigned to the Malan base shortly after, and she was so angry that she immediately wrote a letter to Lin Biao, saying that she would completely sever the father-daughter relationship.

The father and daughter broke up at this point.

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

Malan's base was a nuclear test base, which was completely different from Lin Xiaolin's college major, and after arriving at the base, she was assigned to the political department as a propaganda officer.

During the base period, Lin Xiaolin changed her name to "Dawn", worked very hard, and ran to the grassroots level in the depths of the desert without anything, and no one knew that she was actually the daughter of President Lin. After some time, Lin Xiaolin was sent below to exercise. Every day is either milking cows or cleaning cow dung, and she has no complaints about this, and she works in peace and security.

Lin Xiaolin originally thought that he was going to live in Xinjiang like this. However, a car accident in 1967 changed her fate.

It was the winter of 1967, Lin Xiaolin accidentally injured her foot when she was out, because the base medical skills were limited, and the treatment did not improve for a long time, so she applied with her superiors to return to Beijing for treatment, but was rejected.

Lin Xiaolin had no choice but to "escape" and successfully took a train back to Beijing, although he could not see his father, he was still sent to a military headquarters in Chongqing for treatment and married a loyal and honest cadre.

Lin Biao

Soon after, Lin Xiaolin was transferred to Dali, Yunnan Province, responsible for raising pigs at the grassroots level, at that time she was already pregnant, but still worked with a big belly, and as a result, she accidentally tripped and fell to the ground when the water pipe rushed to the pig house, so the eldest son was born more than ten days earlier.

It was in this context that September 1971 arrived.

After her father crashed, Lin Xiaolin was also investigated by the organization, because she did not mix in, and she was not less excluded by her stepmother, so she was quickly relieved, did not receive quarantine review, and later got the opportunity to return to Beijing to engage in scientific research.

Write to Chen Yun

After Lin Biao's death, for various reasons, his past deeds were no longer publicized. Although Lin Xiaolin announced that she had severed her relationship with her father, the flesh and blood affection could not be erased at all, in her own words:

"Although I didn't live with my father for very long, because of my stepmother, I was like a gray duckling, squeezed out and suffering. However, the only one who gives me affection and father's love is my father. I'll never forget it. No one in this world has given me this feeling of fatherly love. ”
After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

Lin Xiaolin

After the reform and opening up, Lin Xiaolin has always had a wish while constantly apologizing to those who have been hurt by his father, that is, to make his father's achievements in the revolutionary years affirmed. Work is work, passing is passing. It is an established fact that my father later made a mistake, and it cannot be denied, but his exploits for the revolution are also indelible.

After entering the 90s, the history of several other field armies has begun to be written, and some have even been completed, but the Fourth Field Army has not landed at all. After all, Lin Biao and Siye are inseparable, and mentioning Siye is doomed to avoid him, and Lin Biao is more sensitive, so he has not moved for a long time.

However, as a main force of the People's Liberation Army, Siye has made very outstanding contributions to the victory of the Chinese revolution by fighting four battles and four peaces, three times under the Jiangnan River, and four bao Linjiang, and has made outstanding achievements in battle, from the northeast to Hainan, across 14 provinces and municipalities. How can such a unit have no history of war?

In this case, in January 1994, Lin Xiaolin decided to write a letter to Chen Yun asking him for help.

There is a reason why Chen Yun was chosen.

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

As a revolutionary of the older generation who is highly respected and respected, Comrade Chen Yun has a very correct and sober view of history, and in his own words, "not only the superior, not only the book, only the truth; exchange, comparison, and repetition." This can be seen in his attitude towards the Liaoshen Campaign.

The importance of the Liaoshen Campaign is self-evident, and in 1983, the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall in Jinzhou City specially compiled some historical materials about the Liaoshen Campaign into a book to prepare for the publication of a book called "The Liaoshen Decisive Battle".

In the process of writing, the person in charge specially asked Chen Yun, one of the main responsible persons of the former Northeast Bureau, to write the title of the book. Chen Yun was very happy to know this, and not only wrote the title of the book, but also put forward many valuable suggestions.

When the book was compiled, the most headache for the compilation team was the problem of the Soviet Union and Lin Biao. At that time, Sino-Soviet relations were still very tense, and it was difficult to objectively evaluate the role of the Soviet Union in the Northeast Liberation War, and his contribution to Lin Biao was also taboo because of his historical problems.

The problem is that if the Soviet Union and Lin Biao are not objectively evaluated, the compilation of the book will also be questioned by the broad masses of the people, and no one will be convinced.

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

Chen yun

In this case, Chen Yun made important instructions:

"The question of the role of the Soviet Union and Lin Biao in the Northeast Liberation War is two sensitive issues, but they cannot be avoided when they are written, otherwise this history cannot be clearly explained."

Regarding Lin Biao's performance in the Liaoshen Campaign, Chen Yun said this:

"Lin Biao also said at first that he would 'stick to Madrid', but then he changed his opinion and did not advocate occupying big cities. At that time, if you use the backbone troops to fight the enemy hard, you will break the bones.

Before the Fushun Conference in 1946, the North Manchuria Sub-Bureau sent a telegram to the Northeast Bureau, asking whether the Northeast Bureau had made up its mind to 'abandon the avenue and occupy the two compartments'. If we have indeed made up our minds, we should quickly disperse a part of the main force to the countryside to carry out banditry and land reform. Therefore, Lin Biao was right to withdraw from Siping and Changchun at that time.

However, Lin Biao also made mistakes, mainly in the Liaoshen Campaign, after taking Yixian County, he did not dare to continue to fight Jinzhou, but wanted to return to Changchun. On this issue, he accepted Chairman Mao's operational policy. Therefore, when writing about the Liaoshen Campaign, we should talk about Lin Biao, but focus on Luo Ronghuan, who is the political commissar. ”

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

It was precisely because of Chen Yun's realistic view of history that Lin Xiaolin would write him a special letter proposing to compile the history of the Four Fields and build a memorial hall for the Battle of Pingjin.

After Chen Yun received the letter from the daughter of his old comrade-in-arms, he attached great importance to this and called Hong Xuezhi specifically to let him come to his home. The reason why he was in such a hurry was mainly because Chen Yun was keenly aware that at this time, nearly fifty years had passed since the Liberation War, and many of the soldiers and generals in the four fields were already old, and some of them were even gone.

If it is delayed any longer, how can a work that is consistent with history be compiled? If we rely on the recollection of future generations alone, history is likely to be biased, that is, it is irresponsible to the people and history.

General Hong Xuezhi was also an important leader of Siye, who had participated in many important battles and had deep feelings for Siye, and it was precisely for this reason that Chen Yuncai specially invited him from Shanghai and said straight to the point:

"There are two things that need to trouble you, when the People's Liberation Army had 4 field units, the compilation of the war history of the first field and the three fields has begun to end, and the war history of the second field has also been published, but the war history of the four fields has not yet started, and there is no person in charge, I would like to ask you to be the one."

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

Hong Xuezhi

For this appointment, Hong Xuezhi could not help but look embarrassed. Of course, he was willing to compile the history of the Four Fields, but he was very busy with his own work, and he was also worried that if he did not complete it well, he would have the commission of Chen Yun.

In response to Hong Xuezhi's prevarication, Chen Yun said bluntly: "I feel that you are the most suitable, and others can't do it well." ”

In this way, Hong Xuezhi was not easy to resign, and had to say that if Elder Chen was willing to be the general counsel, he would take over the job. After Chen Yunshuang quickly agreed, the matter was thus negotiated.

After the first thing was negotiated, Chen Yun began to discuss with Hong Xuezhi about building the Pingjin Battle Memorial Hall. This is not difficult to do, the main problem is where to choose the location.

The best location for the Pingjin Campaign was undoubtedly between Beijing and Tianjin.

Hong Xuezhi originally preferred to build in Beijing, after all, it is the capital. But Chen Yun thinks that this is not appropriate, there are already many memorials in Beijing, and the Pingjin Battle Memorial Hall is built here, it will be a bit of a crowd, it is better to build it in Tianjin. Moreover, Tianjin was beaten down with the blood of soldiers, while Beijing was peacefully liberated, so Tianjin is just right.

After Chen Yun received a letter from Lin Biao's daughter in 1994, he talked to Hong Xuezhi: There are two things that need to trouble you

Hong Xuezhi agreed with Chen Yun's opinion, and after the two agreed, Chen Yun drafted a report on the spot. At this time, his health was already very bad, and he was strong enough to communicate with Hong Xuezhi, so Hong Xuezhi alone reported the report to the Central Military Commission.

In 1995, the Central Military Commission issued a circular entrusting these two matters to Hong Xuezhi and asking Chen Yun to be the general adviser.

When Chen Yun learned of this, he was very happy and called Hong Xuezhi specifically, saying that in the future, the history of the four fields would be published, and he would be the first to see it.

Unfortunately, Comrade Chen Yun did not wait for that day, and on April 10, 1995, Chen Yun died at the age of 90.

Two months later, the Four Field History Writing Group was established, and the Pingjin Battle Memorial Hall was also built in Tianjin.

In 1997, the memorial was completed without any entrance fees. In 1998, the compilation of the war history was completed. Unfortunately, Chen Yun could not see the day when these two things were completed, and I have to say that this is really a great regret.
