After a series of investigations, it was confirmed that the animal was a sika deer, a national first-class protected wild animal, with good horns and males, about 50 cm tall and about 150 cm long, and it was very likely to run down the mountain from nearby to feed.

"The wild sika deer in Huangshan Mountain lived near the Large and Small Yang Lake in Huangshan In the early years, and disappeared in the late 1970s, and the wild sika deer found this time is the first time in 40 years." Ye Yaoqing, senior engineer of the Garden Bureau of the Huangshan Scenic Area Management Committee, said.

At that time, when they saw the sika deer, the villagers immediately reacted that it was a wild animal, "I asked everyone to follow behind and drive away my dog to prevent the dog from hurting it." Villager Xie Hongqin said excitedly, "This is the first time I have seen such a sika deer animal when I grew up, which shows that our ecology is really good." ”

The sika deer, under the protection of the villagers, has returned to the mountain forest.
