The shocking incident reportedly occurred in the eastern part of Asembo in Kenya's Chaya County. On May 7, local time, a mother who lived in the local area took her three children to the lake to get water. Just as the children were having fun playing with the water, suddenly a crocodile came out of the water, bit a 3-year-old boy and dragged him into the lake. The mother watched as her son was eaten into his stomach by the giant crocodile. Although she was eager to save her son, the crocodile was 17 feet tall and very fierce, so she could only watch the tragedy happen.

After the incident, the mother rushed home to report the news, and the family immediately took someone to catch the crocodile. Later, they managed to find the crocodile, and the villagers caught it with bait. Local fisherman Paul Omondi said in an interview that they needed to attract crocodiles with food to catch the 17-foot-long "beast." He said, "We put meat on hooks. When the crocodile bites the flesh, it gets caught. "After the crocodile was caught, under the watchful eyes of many villagers, a daring villager killed the crocodile with an axe and cut open its abdomen to find the body of the boy who was killed.

According to the report, the crocodile came from Lake Victoria, and it floated into the lake where the villagers fetched water, which is why such an accident occurred. The horrific incident shocked local villagers, who said a resident named Alex Otino may have settled in the crocodile's habitat, which is why crocodile attacks occur from time to time. After the incident, the Kenya Wildlife Service warned locals not to catch crocodiles by themselves, and anyone who tries to catch an animal should report it to them first.
