Among these founding generals, there was a general Yang Chengwu, who had participated in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, killed countless enemies, and was a true hero of the War of Resistance. And his children are all very good.
Born in 1914, Yang Chengwu is a Hakka family in Changting County, Fujian Province, and his family has been poor since childhood, and his family depends on a few acres of thin fields to survive. But even if the family was poor, his father still sent him to a private school, and in order to save tuition, his father went everywhere to work to earn money, and even in the winter, he could only rely on newspapers to keep warm.
Yang Chengwu is also very sensible, he knows that the opportunity to study is not easy to come by, so he knows how to cherish, study very diligently, and his grades have always been very good, which makes his father very pleased.
Later, Yang Chengwu was successfully admitted to Changting Provincial No. 7 Middle School and officially joined the Chinese Communist Youth League at the age of 14. A year later, he began to join the revolution and joined the ranks of the Red Army as a squadron leader in the propaganda brigade. Because of Yang Chengwu's outstanding performance, he soon joined the Chinese Communist Party, after which he began his career as a horseman.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Chengwu was appointed commander of the First Red Division and went to the front to participate in the battle. After that, he carried out anti-Japanese struggles in various regions of the country and repeatedly defeated the Japanese army, thus making great military achievements.
Moreover, in a war, he also successfully killed the Japanese commander Abe Norihide, who was the highest general killed in Japan in this war, so Yang Chengwu was indispensable.
During the Liberation War, Yang Chengwu once again served as the main general of the People's Liberation Army, participating in battles throughout the country. Because of his bravery in battle and his good strategy, he repeatedly won battles, which greatly reversed the situation in the People's Liberation Army. Even Commander-in-Chief Judd praised him as a true general.
Indeed, Yang Chengwu has an extraordinary talent in fighting, he is not only brave and courageous but also good at strategizing, and is a rare talent. Therefore, the central leaders praised him and entrusted him with heavy responsibilities many times.
And Yang Chengwu successfully completed the tasks assigned by his superiors almost every time. For example, during the Period of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Yang Chengwu led the 20th Corps to severely damage the US Seventh Division, thus setting a record for the highest number of enemy annihilations in the Korean War.
Unfortunately, such a hero was overthrown by the "Gang of Four" during the Cultural Revolution, and eventually imprisoned, and his relatives were persecuted because of this, especially the eldest daughter died because of this, which also became an eternal pain in the hearts of Yang Chengwu and his wife. Although he was later rehabilitated, the wound in his heart could no longer be erased. Later, Yang Chengwu died of illness in 2004 at the age of 90.
General Yang Chengwu spent his life fighting horses, made great contributions to the establishment of new China, and is a well-deserved national hero. His achievements have been so remarkable, and his children are no less impressive, and they all have extraordinary achievements.
At the age of 24, Yang Chengwu married Zhao Zhizhen, director of the Hebei Women's Rescue Association, and after that, although the two were forced to live separately because of the revolution, their relationship was always good, and they gave birth to 10 children.
Unfortunately, it was in the revolutionary period at that time, and the couple had no time to take care of the children, so they had to foster the children in the relatives' homes, and as a result, three of the children died tragically.
Although the early death of the child made the couple feel heartache, the two were busy with the revolution at that time, and they did not pay too much attention to it. Only the death of the eldest daughter made the couple saddest, and even this became the deepest pain in their hearts.
General Yang Chengwu's eldest daughter, Yang Yisheng, graduated from the Chinese Department of Chinese University in 1964 and later worked as an editor in the Air Force Newspaper. However, during the Cultural Revolution, because his father was overthrown by the "Gang of Four" and imprisoned unjustly, the descendants of the Yang family were also persecuted one after another.
In particular, Yang Yisheng was often pulled out to criticize the fight, which was simply a great shame for her strong personality, so in the end she committed suicide with hatred. When the news of the eldest daughter's suicide came, Yang Chengwu and his wife were extremely sad, and after that, whenever they thought of this daughter, they would burst into tears.
In addition to Yang Yisheng, several other children of the Yang family have also been persecuted, but they have all survived strongly, and later they have also shined in different fields.
Among them, the second son Yang Dongming and the fourth daughter Yang Junsheng were both awarded the rank of major general and have been working in the army ever since, while the younger son, after retiring from the army, went to the sea to do business and founded his own business kingdom. The other two daughters did not join the army, but they also had good achievements.
