The old Ferreries Market in Tortosa, Spain, has been abandoned for years and has recently been renovated into a new cultural centre serving the inhabitants of the neighborhood. The new cultural center preserves the main part of the old Ferreries market building, while expanding the new over-the-top space connecting the Joan Monclús Square. The main part of the original market is staggered with the new public space, connecting the exterior from the entrance. The façade features black metal vertical strips, which are first and foremost iconic. The interior continues the façade technique, but it becomes a white vertical line, and the whole must be clean and neat.
