"The Call of Life" is a 40-year-old character documentary of Gongga Mountain, telling the story of the dedication and inheritance of people of all ethnic groups on the sacred site of Gongga Mountain for decades. "The closest school to heaven" Ji Ga, a retired teacher in Yulong West Village, Kangding County, and Sun Qian, a giant panda culture scholar and tea culture expert, helped in the launch ceremony.

Lin Qiang is a director of the China Photographers Association and a member of the Sichuan Writers Association, and has published books such as "Into Nature", "In That Distant Place", "Conch Ditch", "Gongga Ri Oh", ""Cizi Flower" under the Sacred Mountain", "Life Force", "Walking Memory", "The Last Kilometer" and so on.
Gongga Mountain is the highest peak of the Hengduan Mountains, and the eastern and western parts of the mountain are mainly inhabited by Han and Tibetan ethnic groups, and the northwest side is mainly inhabited by the Yi people. The same mountain nurtures different peoples and different cultures. As a sacred mountain for locals, Gongga Mountain also preserves the most complete natural ecology and human ecology in China.
Since the first intrusion into Gongga Mountain in 1980, the author Lin Qiang has walked in this mountain hundreds of times in the past 40 years. When he walked through the mountain woodland again and again, and came into contact with the people in the mountains again and again, Lin Qiang would feel a kind of call, a call from this holy land and from the tough and simple nature of the people in the mountains. In order to convey what he saw and thought in Gongga Mountain to the world, Lin Qiang visited dozens of local villagers in more than ten years, recorded hundreds of stories, took tens of thousands of photos, accumulated hundreds of thousands of words, and after several streamlining, finally formed the book "The Call of Life".

Talking about the origin of 40 years of walking through Gongga Mountain, Lin Qiang said: "I used to be an athlete, in 1979 I broke the all-army decathlon technology and bought a camera with a prize of 200 yuan. As a result of transferring to Gongga Mountain, I met Jiga Teacher and met many friends. I have been around Gonggar for 40 years, and Gongga Mountain is known as a sacred mountain that has nurtured this group of people. ”
Lin Qiang introduced his friends of Gongga Mountain, which he wrote about, in the form of PPT on the spot. As one of the characters in Lin Qiang's book, Ji Ga specially got up from the field, and he insisted on staying on the high-altitude campus for 27 years. More than 20 years ago, when Lin Qiang Passed the Yulong West Village School in Ganzi Prefecture at an altitude of 4,100 meters, he met Ji Ga, the only teacher in the school. This Tibetan teacher, whose face was covered with knife-like wrinkles, spent his life guarding two classrooms made of stone and dirt on a snow-capped mountain.
Their stories move the reader, as the theme of the launch is "so small, so sublime.".
