On May 3, local time, tennis star Kevin Anderson posted on social media, announcing that he would officially bid farewell to professional tennis. The 35-year-old South African tennis player, who was once ranked No. 5 in the world, has won 2 Grand Slam runners-up and 7 Tour titles.

Anderson posted on social media that he made a difficult decision today to retire from professional tennis. Anderson thanked everyone who helped him along the way and helped a South African kid achieve his tennis dream. I thanked my parents, brothers and family for their silent dedication and support.

Anderson reached the finals of the Tour 20 times in his career, winning seven of them.
