The 228th edition of the UFC Fighting Night, which will be held in Austin, USA, on June 19, Beijing time, has confirmed two new high-profile showdowns, Calvin Qatar vs. Josh Emmett and Kevin Holland vs. Tim Meens.

Calvin Qatar (23-5, 11 K, 2 S) is 34 years old and has a height of 180cm with an arm span of 183cm. He started his professional MMA career in 2007 and joined the UFC in 2017 with a score of (16-2) and eight consecutive wins, and has achieved a (7-3) result at the UFC so far. After losing to Zabit Magomedsharipov in 2019, he won two straight in 2020, with KO Jeremy Stephens in the second set and a point-by-point victory over Dan Ige. The 2021 points lost to Max Holloway, just after a points win over Giga Chikadze in January this year. Qatar is currently ranked 4th in the official UFC weights.

Josh Emmett (17-2, 6 K, 2 S) is 37 years old and has a height of 168cm arm span of 178cm. He began his professional MMA career in 2011, won the WCFC Lightweight Championship in 2014, joined the UFC in 2016 with a (9-0) result, and has achieved (8-2) results at the UFC so far. Since losing the ko in the second set by Jeremy Stephens in 2018, he has won four straight games so far, including KO Michael Johnson in the third set, Mirsad Bektic in the first set, Shane Burgos in points in 2020 and Dan Ige in points last December. Emmett is currently ranked 7th in the UFC official rankings in the featherweights.

Kevin Holland (22-7, 13 K, 5 S, 1 N) is 29 years old and has a height of 191cm with an arm span of 206cm. He began his professional MMA career in 2015, winning the XKO MiddleWeight Championship in 2016 and defending the title twice since. He won the 2018 White Dana Draft, then joined the UFC with a (13-3) result and four consecutive wins, and has achieved a result of (9-4, 1 N) in the UFC so far. With five straight wins in 2020 but two straight losses to Derek Brunson and Marvin Vettori in 2021, the match against Kyle Daukaus last October ended in a nonchalant bump and was just relegated to the second set in the middleweight in March.

Since being demoted in the second set by Daniel Rodriguez in February 2020, he has recently won three straight, beating Laureano Staropoli and Mike Perry in points, just after a point-out victory over Nicolas Dalby last June.
