Bahrain means "fortress" and "military village" in Mongolian, and this was once the long-term pastoral residence of the Mongolian Bahrain Ministry. After the annexation of the Qing Dynasty, it was divided into the Bahrain Right Wing Banner and the Bahrain Left Wing Banner, the Bahrain Right Wing Banner Zasak (that is, the flag chief) was the title of the county king, called the Great Bahrain; the Bahrain Left Wing Banner Zasak was the Viscount of Bei, called Little Bahrain, which was respectively served by the Mongolian nobles as Zasak, and allowed hereditary replacement to consolidate the rule. Sedan Namtsara Wangbao was the 33rd grandson of Genghis Khan and the last Zazak of the Left Banner of Bahrain, and was promoted to the king of the county at the end of the Qing Dynasty. Therefore, the Little Bahrain Royal Palace is also known as the Bahrain Olgai County Royal Palace. Junwang died of illness in 1934 and was the last master of this majestic and solemn palace.

Built on the bank of the Ao'ergai River, backed by the tall and majestic Gazhidi Mountain, the royal palace covers an area of more than 300 acres, and the layout is very particular about feng shui. The overall building is a two-entry quadrangle courtyard centered on the former hall, and the other buildings are around the front hall.

Only the dilapidated main house remains, but the photographs taken by Japanese archaeologist Mr. Torii Ryuzo in the 1920s are still very imposing. The architectural characteristics of the house, the entrance hall, the front hall and the rear hall located on the central axis are all ridged and hanging mountain style, reflecting the grandeur and majesty of the royal palace. In addition to the ancient trees, the central axis from the foyer to the back hall is paved with green bricks, and the eaves of the back hall are built with verandas.

Compared with today's farmland is thousands of green waves, villages are lined up one after another, roads are smooth and accessible, and the people are well fed, although there are not many cattle and sheep in the large open grassland in front of the royal palace in the 1920s, the vegetation is not high and sparse, it can be imagined that the People in the Mongolian area at that time were not prosperous, the people's livelihood was withered, and people could not help but lament the vicissitudes of the Bahrain region for more than 300 years.
