There were 2,436 death row inmates in the US as of January 1, 2022, and while the practice has been abolished in the UK, it remains a key part of the US law and order system.
Some of the strangest and most inconspicuous meals from death row inmates have been revealed from greasy KFC bargain buckets, pizza donations and even two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream.
In the United States, however, 14 prisoners have been killed on death row in the past 10 years.
Picking the last meal can be very difficult – especially if you don't have an appetite, knowing that this will be the last meal you'll eat.
Some prisoners would opt for a hearty last meal, while others would opt for a light meal like dessert.
But some people even refuse to eat and instead decide to have a cup of coffee.
In 2007, police killer Phillip Workman was executed, but he even chose not to eat his last meal.
He asked for his vegetarian pizza to be donated to a homeless person in Nashville.
However, the prison refused his last request, and he refused to eat anything.

In Honor of Walkman, people from all over the country donated large amounts of vegetarian pizza as a sign of respect for his decision to turn his last act into a well-intentioned one.
The charity donated pizza, and individual and activist Donna Spangler organised a pizza worth almost £1,000 with friends.
She said: "Philip Walkman was trying to do a good thing and no one was going to help him.

However, some want a feast suitable for the king.
The infamous John Wayne Gacy, also known as the Killer Clown, ate a bucket of the original recipe KFC, 12 fried shrimp, a pound of strawberries and some french fries before receiving the lethal injection.

Richard Moore spent more than 20 years on death row
In South Carolina, Richard Bernard Moore, who has been incarcerated since 1999, will be executed by firing squad after a deadly robbery shooting at a convenience store.
Twenty years later, Moore insisted he did not carry a gun with him.
Moore believes the man he killed died from a gunshot wound caused during the battle between them.
