At the beginning of 2020, the outbreak of new crown pneumonia, Zhang Junchao actively asked Miao to join the hospital volunteer team, and asked Zhan to join the fever clinic on duty, on January 31, he began to participate in the 24-hour rotation of the fever clinic, in addition to receiving patients, he also actively did a good job in the disinfection of fever clinics and the registration and statistics of fever patients every day. At the same time, as a member of the hospital expert group, he also consults with other hospital experts to diagnose fever patients, collect throat swabs from suspicious patients, and exclude suspicious patients.
When he learned that the hospital was short of manpower, Zhang Junchao immediately applied for a consultation to cover each night shift, and since then the duty room of the inpatient department has become his "home", on standby 24 hours a day, on call. In this way, Zhang Junchao shuttled through the inpatient department and fever clinic every day, and worked with colleagues to complete the reception of more than 200 fever patients, more than 100 consultations during the day and more than 30 consultations at night, excluding one case after another. After the Unity Street Health Center as the management unit of the isolation hotel, Zhang Junchao actively responded to the call, took the initiative to participate in the work of the isolation hotel, served as the team leader, during which the body temperature of the isolated personnel was measured, health education, psychological counseling, etc., and successfully completed the hotel isolation management work with 12 other colleagues under the condition of ensuring zero infection of medical staff.

During the period of resuming work and production, as the vice president of health, Zhang Junchao also guided the prevention and control work of enterprises and schools in the jurisdiction 17 times, including assisting in the formulation of emergency plans, establishing green referral channels, conducting disinfection guidance, and setting up temporary observation rooms.
