Seaside Study Abroad: Full-time online courses in Malaysia will temporarily run until 31 December 2022

Xiaobian has recently received a lot of inquiries about whether the applied major will resume offline courses, and I believe this is the most concerned issue for everyone. Before interpreting the content of the announcement, Xiaobian will first introduce you to what is MQA

1

What is MQA?

Seaside Study Abroad: Full-time online courses in Malaysia will temporarily run until 31 December 2022

The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) is a new entity approved by the Malaysian government on 21 December 2005 to merge the former National Accreditation Board (LAN) and the Department of Quality Assurance (QAD) of the Ministry of Higher Education. This institution is responsible for the quality assurance and regulation of public and private higher education, and is used to accredit the courses of educational institutions that provide higher education and to facilitate the accreditation of academic qualifications.

In fact, MQA is equivalent to the foreign-related supervision platform of China Retention Service under the Ministry of Education of the mainland, so what is the content of this announcement it issued? Interpretation is coming~

2. Interpretation of the content of the announcement

◼ Translation of the announcement

To all higher education providers (HEP),

In order to make the 2022 Higher Education Programme more flexible, the Malaysian Qualifications Accreditation Body (MQA) has provided guidance to major higher education institutions (HEPs) to continue to implement online or distance learning programmes to ensure that higher education institutions can arrange follow-up courses in accordance with the established teaching plans during the pandemic so that students' learning progress is not affected.

According to the current Prime Minister of Malaysia, Ismail Ismail On 8 March 2022, lsmail Sabri bin Yaakob announced that "Malaysia will enter the transition phase of endemic diseases from 1 April 2022", and MQA re-examined existing guidance requirements to comply with the announcement issued by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Therefore, in view of the need for higher education institutions to transition from online courses to approved original delivery methods in stages, MQA has decided to extend the online delivery model until December 31, 2022.

◼ Focus on interpretation

1

The purpose of this announcement is to inform universities to extend a flexible way of arranging university courses (online courses) and to ensure that courses are scheduled according to the schedule in accordance with the guidelines issued by the government last year.

2

As the government announces that Malaysia will enter the "endemic transition phase" from 1 April, MQA will also review the previously issued guidelines.

3

In view of the need for higher education institutions to move from online courses to physical classes in stages, the above two guidelines have been postponed to December 31, 2022. The form of online classes due to the epidemic is still permitted by the Malaysian government and the education department.

So, does that mean that after December 31, you will need to be taught in person?

Now no one can give a positive answer. As for what kind of teaching form will be given after next year, it still needs to be determined according to the current international situation and the current situation of the epidemic, so that students do not have to panic and speculate. The so-called only focus on the present, the rest is left to time!

Good reminder

Speaking of this, Xiaobian can't help but nag two sentences more, hoping to let students more clearly understand the current situation of studying in Malaysia:

PART.01

Whether or not Malaysian international students want to go to face-to-face teaching and when to go to face-to-face teaching is ultimately based on the requirements of specific schools, colleges and tutors (rather than listening to other students).

Students must look for official information, not the same cloud. Don't worry too much until the school has an official document.

Because student entry is required to continue to go through the EMGS, sticker and other processes. Therefore, the school will issue specific official documents in advance, leaving enough time for students to prepare.

Therefore, before the official channels do not release any information, students can relax their hearts, and studying with peace of mind is the king!

PART.02

As an ordinary international student, you now need to do the following things:

First, understanding official channel information, such as the government, the Ministry of Higher Education, MQA, schools, colleges and tutors, can keep yourself from falling into the information puzzle. Once the back-to-school face-to-face teaching is required, the official will definitely issue specific notices and announcements, and the preparation cycle must be sufficient, without excessive worry. There is nothing wrong with sharing information between classmates and friends, but as far as possible, official documents are the mainstay, and there is no need to be entangled in other information.

Second, no matter whether in China or Malaysia, in fact, the impact of the epidemic is not small, so we must do a good job of personal protection to ensure our health and safety.

Third, whether or not you want to teach face-to-face in the future, and when you will teach face-to-face, one thing will not change - studying abroad is a survival game. Those with strong abilities can stay, and those who can't keep up will be eliminated. Why are many students afraid of face-to-face teaching and want to take online lessons? Not only because of the time can be more flexible, do not delay the domestic work under the premise of online course study.

PART.03

This MQA official article once again issued a final call for our domestic students!

At present, it is the end of the online course dividend period, and all the students who are still hesitating, seize the time to apply for this year's enrollment! Maybe you can also enjoy one or two semesters of online online lessons. It not only does not delay work, but also ensures the safety of the epidemic period, and greatly reduces the cost of living.

In particular, all the students on the job should not wait and see, do not hesitate any longer, and act quickly to catch the last train of the golden period of upgrading their academic qualifications!

Seaside Study Abroad: Full-time online courses in Malaysia will temporarily run until 31 December 2022

With the normalization of epidemic prevention and control in China and the gradual improvement of the epidemic situation in Malaysia, we can see that the probability of "extending online courses" again is very small.

With the mentality of seizing the last moment, because of the epidemic situation, students who hope to conduct online classes in China must seize the opportunity!

We don't know how future policies will change, but we must make good use of the last time.
