What you need to know is that Morocco's marriage traditions are very different from traditional popular marriage cultures. According to Moroccan marriage customs, wedding vows should be made before the wedding day. Drib Sdak is when both the bride and groom sign a marriage contract called "Akd Zawaj".

The signing of a marriage contract requires the presence of both the man and the woman, their families and an "Adul", a religious person with the legal right to enter into marriage.

Usually, Drib Sdak Day is also a small celebration that consists mainly of close family members and friends of the groom and bride-to-be.

After Drib Sdak, the couple officially married religiously. The two families will now begin to prepare for their colorful wedding. In Morocco's wedding tradition, the bride arranges a grand celebration at her parents' home before the wedding.

The groom and his family are invited and they must bring gifts including clothes, jewelry and sweets to the bride and her family. The celebration lasts about 8 to 10 hours. At the end of the day, the groom's family leaves in preparation for welcome day.
