The 18-year-old midfielder of the Soviet Super League scored on its debut, and Manchester City overtook Newcastle to take the lead in signing

Many Premier League clubs are chasing Rangers Wizard Alex Lowry, who is believed to have made a difference in Scotland. Now that it's become the norm for talented young men in Scottish football to be snared by England's giants, 18-year-old Lowry is likely to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Ben Doak to the others of the British Peninsula, who recently left the Celtics for Liverpool. Manchester City and Newcastle are the most interested clubs in the Premier League. Lowry is a midfielder who usually moves in areas slightly behind the offensive end.

A product of the Rangers youth team, Lowry has joined the Scottish giants since the age of 10, rising steadily in several age groups. After signing a professional contract with the club until 2023, he made his career debut for Rangers in the Scottish Cup, scoring even his first goal against Stirling Albion. His performance in that game gave him his Scottish league debut in the subsequent Rovers game against Livingston. Lowry is known for his composure when he controls the ball, though it's clearly his most important moment. He has good control over the ball and is able to break through with the ball when dribbling forward. Lowry's best attributes may be his close-range control, but he has a pair of passing eyes and good enough scoring ability.

Former Rangers head coach Graceme Murty has also played a huge role in the development of the youth team, and he has praised the young star. "Alex (Lowry) is different from anybody else on the Rangers, I think his technical ability, the range of passes he sees and executes is beyond everyone else's, he has extraordinary confidence," he told the British media, "he believes in himself very much, he wants the ball, he craves possession, he wants the goal to happen." It's not surprising when he debuts, he looks like a veteran in a first-team game with such speed and rhythm because he has the technique and you won't be surprised by his goals. He had the confidence to support himself in doing it. Previously, Newcastle United were in the lead in the competition for Lowry's signing, but Manchester City have now become the main candidate to sign the young player.
