Sky Sports reported that Everton are about to sign Glasgow Rangers right-back Patterson for £16 million.
Everton had asked for Patterson twice last summer, but both were rejected because the offer did not meet the list price of Glasgow Wanderers. Currently, Everton is making its third offer for Patterson, which amounts to £16 million. That figure would set a new record for a transfer fee for the Rangers to sell players (previously £12m).
Paterson, 20, has played six times in the Soviet Premier League this season, starting just 2 times, and rangers' top choice at right-back is captain Tafnier. However, Patterson has already made his personal debut in the Scottish national team.
This week, Everton have signed Ukraine international Miklenko for a transfer fee of around £17 million.
