Malta: Chinese-aided docks are busy

In Valletta, Malta, a large cruise ship undergoes repairs at Dry Dock 6 on April 22.

Built with Chinese assistance, the 300,000-ton Dry Dock 6 in the Grand Port of Valletta, Malta, was built between 1975 and 1980 and was the largest shipbuilding and ship repair base in the Mediterranean at that time. Since its official commissioning in January 1981, Dry Dock 6 has been in operation and has played an important role in Malta's economic development, especially the ship repair industry.
