The revelation (the original Weibo has been deleted) claims to reveal the full color selection of Apple's upcoming iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will reportedly be available in black, white, blue, red, and purple, while the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be available in graphite, gold, silver, and purple. The purple color of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro is said to contain a unique finish that can change the hue depending on the lighting conditions.

The post also claimed that the iPhone 14 model would be equipped with a new True Tone flash that looked like "a large circle contains small circles, rather than the current design, which contains two small LEDs in two separate hemispheres.

In recent years, Apple has offered eye-catching new color options in addition to more neutral shades when introducing new iPhone models. Given that Apple introduced the purple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini in the mid-cycle update last April to get a positive response from customers, as well as the 24-inch iMac, the purple option for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro seems reasonable, with both the iPad mini 6 and iPad Air 5 having purple.

It's unclear whether the unique purple will actively change the kaleidoscope effect based on lighting conditions, or just use the technology behind the iPhone 13 Pro Far Peak Blue, which has a more varied appearance than other color options. That's because Apple has adopted a new production process specifically for Yuanfeng Blue, which uses "multi-layer nanoscale cermets applied to the surface for an amazing and durable surface treatment."

Overall, the color option choices for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro may look very similar to those for the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13, and iPhone 13 Pro, with a reintroduced purple hue.
