A month ago, Zhang Yiming would not have imagined that he would one day become the branch secretary of the apartment building in the community.
All along, he was just an ordinary resident of Jianhe Community, living in full count for 3 years, and did not even know a few neighbors. Today, he not only leads the temporary party branch of the apartment building to communicate with all parties, 4 party members divide labor and cooperate, perform their duties, and master the situation of more than 100 households in the building, and donate a batch of epidemic prevention materials to the neighborhood committee and volunteers.

I am a resident of Changning Jianhe Community, and although it has been almost ten years since I bought the house here, it will take only 3 years to live in its entirety. Through this epidemic, I have a comprehensive understanding of the community, and before that, like many people, I felt very unfamiliar with the community and my neighbors.
To say why I became the secretary of the provisional party branch, I have to start with the first positive infected person in our building.
After the diagnosis appeared, the residents' emotions exploded
We have a WeChat group in our building, which was set up by volunteers to inform everyone of nucleic acid testing and antigen distribution, and later became the main front for everyone to communicate.
On April 10, someone reported in the group that the first case of new crown pneumonia appeared in the building. This incident caused panic in everyone. The old aunt who was infected with the virus also took the initiative to inform in the group: I'm sorry, but it was I who diagnosed it. Some neighbors began to point the finger at her.
I know, it's just a fuse. Because everyone's anxiety, complaints and dissatisfaction have been accumulated for a long time.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, everyone has been isolated at home, paying more attention to the changes in the epidemic around them, and sending at least 1,000 exchanges of information in the WeChat group every day. We are an old neighborhood here, crowded and mixed. Take the elevator building where I live, there are more than 100 households on 14 floors, including the elderly and young people, and there are locals and shared houses, and everyone's demands are different.
But at the same time, the manpower to serve the residents is very scarce. According to my understanding, during this time, the neighborhood committee in charge of the Jianhe community was not abundant, many staff members were isolated at home for a long time and could not go out, and the grass-roots workers who could run in the front line were even harder, and there was almost no time to check the mobile phone WeChat. This makes it difficult for the neighborhood committee to give feedback on the doubts, complaints and problems of the residents at the first time, because the information is asymmetrical, and over time, the residents will have negative emotions.
Seeing that the old aunt had been wronged, I decided not to let the negative emotions of the WeChat group continue to spread, and someone always had to take the initiative to stand up and organize everyone to face the epidemic in an orderly and positive manner.
I am an old party member who works in public affairs in Debi. During the epidemic period, under the organization of the group, I and my colleagues helped about 700 people in special poverty, and donated tens of thousands of yuan of epidemic prevention materials to Changning, Xuhui and other districts. Because he has participated in many party building activities and public welfare projects in the company, he is good at dealing with people and has also exercised certain organizational, communication and coordination skills. At this time, the work experience can just be used, plus I have nearly 20 years of volunteer experience, so I took the initiative to send a message in the group, saying that I hope to set up a temporary party branch and recruit party member volunteers to do some service work with me.
Why do you want to do this? Our building is not without a building team leader, nor is it without volunteers, but they are either old or have taken on heavy tasks and have limited energy themselves. Therefore, a new team needs to be built as a buffer for residents' emotions and as a communication bridge between residents and neighborhood committees.
Temporary party branches are a good choice. If you want to gain the trust of others in order to do a better job, you need a point of trust, and the party membership is just enough to satisfy.
The establishment of temporary branches, the needs of a few people can not be overwhelmed
After I called out, many neighbors responded, including some elderly party members, who were eager to volunteer.
I said: Thank you! However, volunteer service is heavy, taking into account everyone's body and energy, or give priority to young and middle-aged, and old party members can guide and supervise our work.
Finally, the specific affairs of the temporary branch were taken care of by me and 3 middle-aged and young party members, and everyone had a clear division of labor and performed their duties.
A party member living on the 3rd floor is responsible for monitoring public opinion and collecting demands. My job is to deal with public affairs, so I am very clear: to establish a good relationship with residents, their demands must be resolved and given timely feedback, and those that cannot be solved immediately must also be communicated and followed up in a timely manner. Recently, I have found that the vast majority of the information exchanged in the WeChat group is emotional expression, and a small number of appeals are easily submerged and need to be screened out by special personnel.
The wife of another party member who lives on the third floor is a staff member of the Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Therefore, they are responsible for popularizing the sanitize of professional knowledge for everyone's epidemic prevention, and counting everyone's nucleic acid situation and antigen distribution.
The party member who lives on the 14th floor is a young girl who is responsible for counting the information on the group purchase package of the neighborhood committee and making payments.
As the secretary of the temporary branch, I am responsible for connecting with the neighborhood committee, transmitting the collected residents' demands, and then passing on the neighborhood committee's reply to the residents in the building. I remember once, I made a phone call with the director of the neighborhood committee for more than an hour, and I clarified the things that everyone encountered, such as express delivery, dispensing, sanitize, and materials, and by the way, I also solved the difficulties encountered by the neighborhood committee. At that time, the output of garbage in the community increased sharply, and the neighborhood committee suffered from not having a sufficient amount of containers, so I contacted two large garbage cans through the resources in my daily work to solve their troubles.
Since the establishment of the temporary branch, we have contacted the neighbors to the procurement channel, purchased a batch of disinfection tablets, disinfection gels and disinfectants, and distributed them to every resident in the building. After learning that the residents' committee and volunteers were short of epidemic prevention materials, we also donated two batches of protective clothing, face shields and medical gloves. Procurement and donation information, we will also inform residents in a timely manner in the WeChat group.
Communicate frankly to resolve conflicts and maximize benefits
The work of the temporary branch is not easy to do, and when it was first established, the time I invested in the group every day added up to more than 6 hours. During the day I want to work, I take time to make some replies in the morning and at noon, transfer to the WeChat group after 8 p.m. after work, help everyone deal with problems, until more than 1 a.m., and then plan to arrange volunteer services the next day, often working until three or four o'clock in the morning.
In the beginning, there were a lot of problems encountered, some people quarreled with me, some people complained to me, and some people supported me.
Some elderly people filmed the whole process of the staff sanitize through the doorbell camera. He told me that the staff assigned by the neighborhood took the spray gun and sprayed it again, how is this enough? You also have to do the corridor sanitize, spray disinfectant water a few times, and disinfect the courier one by one, so that it is safe.
It really bothered me. I said: We are volunteers in the building, and with the manpower and material conditions at that time, there is no way to do this. I explained the problems I encountered to him clearly, and the other party understood.
This is not enough, I also found the director of the neighborhood committee to reflect the situation, hoping to increase the frequency of sanitize, but also found disease control professionals to popularize science: the spray coverage of the handheld spray gun is 8 meters, as long as the concentration of the potion is enough, spraying once is enough.
Now that all aspects of the conditions have kept up, the sanitize work has gradually taken a more meticulous step.
This job is a test of patience. The first confirmed aunt was at home waiting for the transfer for a few days, and her mood had been very low. Many neighbors have written privately to me that my aunt is an old resident of the community, and she feels that she has brought trouble to everyone and has a lot of psychological pressure. Therefore, I will also take time to chat with her, mainly to channel emotions. There were some residents in the group who accused the old aunt, so I went to communicate: the aunt is a patient, not a sinner, no one is willing to get sick, and take the initiative to stand up and say that it is for the sake of the building.
More than 10 days after the establishment of the branch, everyone's attitude towards positive infected people has improved greatly. There is a shared house in our building, and a tenant has become a positive infected person during this period, and everyone will take the initiative to comfort him. Tenants also often share their feelings of illness in the group, as well as the living experience of transporting to the cabin hospital.
Now that everything is getting better, there are fewer problems from residents, and everyone is focusing more and more on running their own lives. So, I spent a lot less time talking in the WeChat group than I did at the beginning. This temporary branch will operate until the day it is unsealed, but I sincerely hope that the secretary of my temporary branch will come in handy less and less often, and that it will be a real spring blossom.
