In the northern weekend, there was a monk in Jingzhao County (present-day Enyi District, Xi'an City) called Fa Tong, before he became a monk, surnamed Guan, because he was born black and thin, so his mother gave him a nickname Hei'er.

As a child, Guan Hei'er was extremely thin and weak, and a small wind could blow him down, and other children often bullied and laughed at him. Fearing that he would not be able to feed himself, his mother sent him to the monastery as a monk when he was a teenager, hoping that the Buddha would bless him to grow up safely and healthily.

The abbot of the temple gave Guan Hei'er a Dharma name "Fa Tong", and Fa Tong thought that his life would be a little better when he arrived at the temple, who knows it is still the same.

Because of his poor physique, he could not carry water and chop wood like other monks, and he was relatively timid and introverted, and he was often ridiculed and bullied by other monks.

Fa Tong was very sad, he felt that he had let his friends bully him, and when he arrived at the monastery, he was bullied by his brothers, all because he was weak and weak, he was also a human, why was he so miserable? Thinking of this, he shed bitter tears.

One day, when he was cleaning in the Guanyin Hall and looking at Avalokiteshvara on the lotus seat, he threw down his broom, knelt down on the futon, and prayed reverently to the bodhisattva statue: "The little monk has long heard the bodhisattva's wise eyes and candlelight, and you have responded to every request, hoping that you can show great compassion and mercy to me, make me strong, and no longer be arbitrarily humiliated and bullied by others." ”

Since that day, Fa Tong has been sincerely reciting the Guanyin Sutra every day, not giving up day and night. A year later, he took a leave of absence to visit his mother, and after eating in the morning, he sat under a tree in his yard and fell asleep in a short while.

After about a meal, Fa Tong's mouth suddenly flowed with saliva and saliva, and he soaked his clothes along the corner of his mouth, but Fa Tong was unconscious, and Wu Zi slept soundly.

Faton's mother came out of the room, saw her son like this, thought her son was dreaming, hurriedly woke up Faton, and asked him worriedly: "Child, what is wrong with you?" ”

Fatong replied, "Mother, I'm all right." I just had a dream in which a man gave me three pieces of fragrant donkey tendons, and I just finished eating one when I was woken up by you. Unfortunately, the remaining two pieces could not be eaten. ”

From that day on, the monk Fatong felt that he had been reborn, his muscles were solid, and he had endless strength, so he tried to lift hundreds of pounds of large stones and several inches of wood, and easily lifted them over his head, as if there was no weight at all.

He knew that this was the divine power given to him by Avalokiteshvara, and he would no longer have to be bullied by his brothers in the future.

In the temple where Fatong lived, the most powerful monk was named Monk, who often took the lead in bullying Fatong. Taking advantage of the monk's inattention, Fa Tong stole his robe, then lifted a pillar and pressed it under the pillar.

Later, when the monk found his robe pressed under the pillar, he thought that the gods and ghosts were teasing him, so he knelt on the ground and said, "I have no sins, the gods and ghosts don't scare me." ”

Seeing this, he smiled and said to the monk, "This robe I put under the pillar." The monk did not believe it, and Fa Tong picked up the pillar with his left hand, took out the robe with his right hand, and gently lowered the pillar.

The monk was stunned, and only then did he realize that Fa Tong possessed divine power, and from then on, no one in the whole monastery dared to bully Fa Tong.

There is a large stone mortar in the temple, weighing more than 500 pounds, which was carried all the way from Nanshan by Fa Tong for the use of the monks in the temple.

This made Emperor Wen of Sui feel very faceless, and he summoned the Wen and Wu officials and asked, "Don't I have a good man in the Great Sui Dynasty who can defeat the people of the Western Regions?" ”

Someone recommended the Fa Tong monk to Emperor Wen of Sui, saying that the Fa Tong monk was born with divine power and should be able to defeat the Western Regions Jian Er. Emperor Wen of Sui immediately summoned Fa Tong to the palace and asked him if he was sure of defeating his opponent.

Emperor Wen of Sui nodded, summoned the Western Hercules over, and ordered him to shake hands with the Monk Fa Tong to test his strength. Hercules shook first, and the monk Fatong allowed Hercules to squeeze his hand, not thinking anything of it.

When it was the turn of the monk Ton to squeeze Hercules, with a slight force on his hand, Hercules's hand was squeezed and bled, and he lay on the ground in pain and begged for his life.

Falton said to Hercules, "I haven't really pushed hard yet, and if I pushed harder, your hand would now be shattered into slag." Hercules immediately softened and said, "You are invincible, and I am convinced." ”

The monk Farton learned of the other party's intentions, reached out and grabbed a handful of beans, and with a squeeze of his hand, the beans turned into bean flour; then he stood up, pulled a ox cart that was moving forward, and walked in the opposite direction, and the cattle pulling the cart landed on all fours, or they were pulled back by Faton, and there was no room for resistance.

When the martial arts master saw this, he sighed to himself and immediately fell to the ground, honoring the monk Fa Tong as "Heavenly Force". Since then, the fame of the monks has been far and wide, and no one knows it.
