Zheng Wu's fame is not as good as the above, mainly because he suffered injuries at his peak. In 1997, he underwent surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and meniscus repair surgery, and a year later he suffered a serious car accident during his recovery period, so by the time he returned to the CBA, others had already gained a large number of fans, and Zheng Wu missed the best moment to prove himself.
But Zheng Wu was still able to score 20+ points in Zhejiang after recovering from injury, and his last peak was the 2000 Olympic Games. Despite his age and injury, Zheng Wu was selected for the national team and hit two key free throws in the men's basketball team's victory over Angola. At his peak, he was one of the best small forwards in the men's basketball team and the most underrated forward in men's basketball history.
