In the last two days of Thai news, in addition to the inexplicable mango sticky rice, the biggest hot spot is the epic sexual assault case that turned the world upside down.
The suspect is the son of the former Director-General of the WTO and the second-in-command of Thailand's oldest political party. His status is so precious that many Thai news dare not write his name publicly.
The crimes he is accused of, if confirmed, will not only be the end of his personal political career, but will also bring earth-shaking shocks to the whole of Thailand.
Are those who are in high positions of power a group of people who are detached from desire, or a group of people who distort desire?
Now it seems that none of them are fuel-efficient lamps.
First of all, let's get to know the protagonist of this storm: Bin.
As the second generation of Thailand's top officials, Bin has a fairly famous father, Supachai.
This Supachai was Thailand's undersecretary of finance, commerce, deputy prime minister, then three years as director general of the WTO (yes, you read that WTO), and then for 8 years as secretary general of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
Bin's powerful father has rushed out of the thailand category, not only the front-line minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, but also a veritable high-ranking official of the earth, the light of Thailand, an outstanding representative of the high-quality elite of mankind.
The son he gave birth to was also very powerful.
As the son of a "high-ranking official on earth", Bin himself can be regarded as a high-quality human male. He first studied finance in Britain, then entered international financial centers such as London and Hong Kong, and worked as a "wall street wolf" in investment banks for many years.
After returning to Thailand, Bin served as an adviser to many government agencies, and later followed in his father's footsteps to join the Thai Democratic Party, and in the party, he became a deputy party leader in a few moments, becoming the right hand of Zhu Lin, deputy prime minister and minister of commerce.
After the Democratic Party accepted the recruitment and joined the coalition government formed by the military, Bin actually became the core figure in Thailand's economic decision-making level, and squeezed out other "noble sons" in the Democratic Party (such as the son of former Prime Minister Abhisit and the son of the former secretary-general of ASEAN) to become a popular candidate for the future party leader of the Democratic Party.
Long-term work in international financial institutions, practical experience, understand the economy, no political filthy past, clean foundation, hard background. In the past few years, it has solved the problem of employment of college students and the problem of unsalable fruits, and has also vigorously promoted the development of digital currency and blockchain in Thailand.
According to the development of this story line, Bin's future is bright, and the next step should be to take over as party chairman, elect vice premier, and embark on the peak of life.
If the character breaks out, it is even expected to become the prime minister, surpassing the life achievements of his father who is a "high official of the earth", under one person, above ten thousand people, and his name will remain in history.
However, people have set up this thing, and it has always collapsed.
Bin's way to the top, with years of fresh human design, collapsed in April 2022.
On April 12, an 18-year-old Thai woman reported to the police that Bin had forcibly committed sexual assaults such as kissing and indecency at a restaurant on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok.
On the same day, the famous Thai lawyer Sita (nickname: light) made public the news of the sexual assault of young women by "a heavyweight of the vice leader of a major political party" on his personal Facebook page, and said that "nearly ten" women had been victimized.
Although the name is not reported, it is similar to the id card number directly.
On the same page, there are also mysterious netizens who leave messages to break the news: the "big man" was suspected of sexually assaulting two young girls in the Uk in 2003, but was not punished by law.
The Thai media searched and matched based on these clues, and soon found out that the mysterious person was Bin.
The whole country was shocked and accused.
After the news was made public, more and more women came forward to testify that Bin had sexually assaulted them.
Two, four, eight... The number of victims is growing like a snowball. By April 19, the number of female victims reporting to the police had reached 14, and there was an upward trend.
On April 15, Bin resigned from all party posts to concentrate on the lawsuit, but still told the media that he was innocent and wanted the public to believe in Thailand's judicial system.
On the same day, the Bangkok Criminal Court issued a detention order for Bin.
On the 16th, Bin took the initiative to go to the police station to "surrender", and the police took him to the criminal court to confirm that he was charged with two crimes - two cases of sexual harassment and one rape.
Subsequently, Bin was released on bail for 700,000 baht and awaited his appearance in court.
At the same time, more and more women have come forward to accuse Bin, including interns, members of the Democratic Party, waiters at entertainment venues, and even models and celebrities. Most are women in their 18s.
The first person to report the crime was an 18-year-old female college student who was sexually harassed in the hotel's bar and restaurant. The victim said that he originally thought that he was discussing economic issues with Bin, but as a result, Bin used vulgar sexual topics to tease himself the whole time, and kissed and touched himself.
The second informant was Khatailat, a 30-year-old female politician, the wife of another prominent opposition politician and one of the candidates in the Bangkok city council election.
She alleged that in early 2021, she was invited by Bin to go to his office to discuss business, who knew that she went there only to find that it was an apartment apartment, she wanted to leave, but was raped by Bin.
Fearful of the social influence of her perpetrators, she never reported them to the police — until she saw a victim resist.
Another victim, who claimed to have been molested in a car in 2019, was only 17 years old.
One of the most critical victims, a 26-year-old woman, claimed to have been raped by Bin in 2020, after which Bin wanted to use money to seal her mouth, she chose to give in, but finally decided to stand up and identify the perpetrator.
She provided the police with a "telephone recording" as evidence through her lawyer – the woman had been questioning the man who answered the phone sternly, asking the man to admit to the violation and confess to the public, otherwise she would also make the violation public. The man who answered the phone denied it and accused it of being a political attack.
The 14 victims reported to the police were in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and some as far away as britain.
The common feature of their self-confessions is that they were all around 18 years old when they were victims, and they were tricked into eating with Bin on the pretext of discussing business and economic issues, and then they were violated in private occasions or in the "obscene office" that Bin used to commit crimes.
Thailand's political groups and feminist groups began publicly attacking Bin and the Democratic Party, and rallied at the democratic party headquarters in Bangkok to protest.
As for the Democratic Party, there is also a lot of trouble.
Party leader Zhu Lin and most of the party leaders have said that the Democratic Party will never protect the shortcomings, and they have tried their best to cut off Bin, one person is guilty, one person is responsible;
There are also some party members who criticize the high-level people in the party for not knowing people and put such a person in the position of second in command, so that the Democratic Party will suffer a total loss, so they call on the party leader Zhu Lin and the entire executive committee to resign.
The Democratic Party, which was originally a thinning mountain, was caught in a storm and was troubled internally and externally.

Although Bin is a thousand fingers, we do not have to rush to pronounce the verdict for the court before the formal conviction is made.
And those women who report to the police, even if we can't believe them 100%, should not add new trauma to them with victim guilt theories such as "a slap does not make a sound" and "after collecting the sealing fee and coming forward to accuse them of conspiracy".
The so-called justice has always been entangled with politics.
But those who cross the line will eventually have to pay the price for what they do.

I still remember that in 2020, Thailand once set off a discussion about whether to castrate sexual assault.
The person who launched this public opinion campaign and strongly demanded the "chemical or physical castration" of sexual assaulters was Democratic Congressman Ransma.
Now, I don't know what the democrats who shout "castrate rapists" look like today.
Fortunately, this harsh law was not passed, and if it did pass, the Thai Democratic Party was afraid that it would become the first political party in history where the deputy leader was castrated, and it would be directly changed to the East Factory in the future.
The Democratic Party of Thailand, founded in 1946, is one of the oldest modern political parties in Thailand.
Once upon a time, this party was a symbol of democracy, advancement, and civilization, a hope for Thailand's march toward freedom and liberation, and a bastion of the country's first-class elite. There have been four Thai prime ministers, more than a dozen vice prime ministers, and hundreds of members of parliament, and for half a century they have been firmly on the throne of Thailand's largest political party.
However, after the emergence of Thaksin, the Democratic Party gradually found itself unable to defeat him, so it could only retreat from the "vanguard of democratic transformation" to the front guard of the conservative camp, and make a reduction key for Thailand's traditional elite with anti-democratic behavior such as "the yellow shirts make a big fuss in Bangkok".
Until the 2019 general election, the party named after the word "democracy" finally accepted the military's recruitment, officially abandoned its ancestral family rule of "opposing the coup and pursuing democracy", and became a member of the military-led ruling alliance of Thailand.
It returned to the temple, but also lost itself.
In the past, the people chose the Democratic Party because it represented a rational, advanced, and intelligent civilian political group.
Even after Thaksin's appearance, Thai voters, especially in the south-central region, still had strong support for the Democratic Party — because it represented the right track for the country and represented the stronghold of an anti-populist Thai elite.
However, with the rise of military parties and emerging democratic parties, the democratic party's votes are increasingly lost, and the role and attributes of this party are constantly being replaced and squeezed.
The big party in its seventies was defeated in the 2019 general election, and its performance was not as good as the Thai Pride Party composed of local forces, and the newly established Yuanjin Party, and the parliamentary seat was squeezed to the fifth place.
At this time, the Thai Democratic Party, which is struggling to support the west mountain, plays a house leak in the overnight rain, and the sick face is hit by a loud brick.
This hesitation, I don't know if it can be slowed down.
Times have changed, and the original set is getting more and more difficult.
The elite politics espoused by the Thai Democratic Party is actually in the twilight of the new era.
It is hoped that the elite with a full belly of economy will be used to "guide and confuse" all sentient beings, and the children of the old elite of politics and business will inherit the political heritage, so that the temple of the aristocratic republic will be passed down from generation to generation in a limited bloodline, and the old road is no longer accepted by the new generation of Thai people.
And this kind of elite politics of closed classes and close relatives often creates a "small ya" that is not grounded, divorced from the people, and degenerates and alienated in the long-term center of power.
In the long run, the life of a political party, a class, and a political idea will dry up and decline, until the outbreak of a certain genetic defect of its own will become the last straw that overwhelms the camel.
Bin, will it be this straw?
In this world, it will never be possible to achieve true equality.
But those who are willing to awaken the people will always have more vitality than those who think they can become "teachers of the people".
The sooner you understand this, the sooner you will get out of the predicament.
Otherwise, after dealing with Xiao Ya Nei today, there will be a little bully tomorrow.
One day, the world of the elite will be dragged down by its own breeding offspring, giving way to some elites who are better at compromise and disguise, and in a new set of rules, the world will become more civilized step by step.
