Dong Shengdi is a native of Pinggu Fangguang Village, Beijing, born in 1975. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Capital Normal University, majoring in oil painting. When he was a teenager, he had the honor to study under Chen Keyong and Xing Fengyu, and was guided by famous teachers such as Duan Zhengqu, Liu Kongxi, Chen Wei, and Zhang Xiaorui.
Brother Dongsheng and I have been friends for more than twenty years and have formed a deep friendship. He has been immersed in painting for many years and has achieved remarkable results. He turned to many teachers and studied skills diligently; the teaching method was natural and quite accomplished. In his artistic creations, many of them are based on the theme of his hometown. He loves his hometown and loves Pinggu, taking the landscape and the products of his hometown as important creative themes, and integrating heavy historical elements, which is refreshing and inexhaustible.
Twenty years ago, when we were colleagues at Xingyuan Middle School, Dong Shengdi drew sketches for everyone. At that time, he showed off a delicate sketching wrist. Every colleague in the sketch is recognizable at a glance, and some are better than himself. I remember that there was a sketch by Teacher Hao Jun. The characters are heroic, their eyes are bright and bright, and they are quite heroic. In fact, Teacher Hao in life is quite peaceful. From this, I had a preliminary insight into the skills of Dongsheng Brother.
Remember that in the spring of 2020, it was the beginning of the epidemic. I wrote the article "There is a god cat at home", talking about the meaning of catching mice with the god cat, and looking forward to the early end of the epidemic. This wenden is published on the beautiful flat valley. DongShengdi saw it and asked me if I liked cats, and he was willing to paint me one. I was overjoyed, so I asked him for a painting. Sure enough, after more than a month, he sent me "Cat Fun". This is a semi-freehand ink painting. Under the bamboo leaves, a cute black cat crouches. It has tendons protruding and vibrant. Looking back, his eyes were sharp. This cat really jumped on the paper and came alive. Since then, I have admired Dongsheng brother's superb artistic skills even more.
By the spring of this year, Dong Shengdi's artistic creations were very fruitful, and I was very happy to see it, so I wanted to introduce his paintings to everyone and show his colorful and extraordinary art world.
As an art teacher, Dongsheng has his own pursuits. He was determined to teach and create at the same time, to be an art teacher with his own works and artistic pursuits, and he must not sit and talk about it and talk about it emptyly.
Dongsheng's paintings have distinct local characteristics. Pinggu is the most beautiful place in Beijing, with beautiful mountains and beautiful waters. Here the Yanshan Mountains are majestic, the Yanghe River soup; the Beauty of the Grand Canyon, the overlapping waves of Jinhai Lake; there are a hundred flowers in spring, and there are melons and fruits in autumn. In spring, there are not only 100,000 acres of peach blossoms, but also large areas of pear blossoms and apricot blossoms. His flowers, with a strong sense of life, are integrated into his personal feelings. "Pear Blossom Avenue" Pear Blossom Shengxue, like a white cloud, belongs to the freehand brushwork; "Pear Blossom" contains buds and is delicate, which belongs to the realistic technique; "Peach Blossom Dance" paints a peach forest, and the near branches are like butterflies, flying. A little farther away, the red glow is brilliant and beautiful. This painting is semi-freehand and semi-realistic, focusing on emphasizing the enthusiasm of peach blossom blooming, the burning vividness, and the picture is full of dynamic beauty, reflecting the author's positive and upward spiritual outlook.
The majestic wind of Bianguan is a topographic feature of the northern part of Pinggu and an important subject of Dongsheng paintings. His border passes, such as "Dragon's Ridge Tengyun Drunken Golden Autumn"
"Pinggu General Guan" often uses the splendor of golden autumn to set off the majesty and wonder of the mountains. The Great Wall is like a dragon, hovering between the peaks, as if it is flying with wings. The picture is majestic, the mountain peaks are steep, but there is no depression, but it is covered with a layer of warmth. The flowers nearby, the trees in the distance, and the rocky slopes all emit a glimmer of warm colors, full of the rhythm of life, which makes people look comfortable, touched, and kind.
"Autumn Dye Xiongguan" mainly describes the majestic pass, the rolling peaks gradually drifting away, as if until the edge of the sky, there is an infinitely implicit beauty.
"Ya Ji Sheng Jing" focuses on the Ya Ji Temple on the Lone Peak. The temple is high in the sky, half-dyed with red light, as if to welcome the immortals floating down, the picture has a sense of religious solemnity and mystery. In short, his border paintings are majestic, magnificent, romantic, full of warmth, giving people a sense of optimism.
Pinggu has beautiful mountains and rivers, four distinct seasons, and is a livable Taoyuan resort. The mountain houses are warm and comfortable, scattered in the mountains, and are also beautiful scenery. The map of the Pinggu Mountain residence he created is leisurely and fascinating. On the gentle slopes of the majestic mountains, dozens of quiet houses are scattered. Green landscapes, pink and white houses, in the distance are layers of mountains, gradually fading away. The whole picture is quiet and leisurely, as if the gods and immortals live. "Cangyan Jade" and "Yunyong Qianfeng" render the tall peaks with large areas of verdant, which is the summer scenery of the dense forest and lush greenery of Pinggu. After seeing these two paintings, everyone wants to live in Pinggu and enjoy the idyllic life of green mountains and clear waters! At least stay for a few days, to live up to this taoyuan scenery.
Pinggu's big peach is famous all over the world, and the violin is famous all over the world. The author paints these two Pinggu business cards with interest, showing their beauty. In June 2012, "Legu QinYun" was selected for the "Huang Ji Cup" art and calligraphy works exhibition for primary and secondary school teachers in Beijing, and won the first prize and was exhibited at the Beijing Yanhuang Art Museum. In May 2013, "Pinggu Fresh Peach" was selected for the "Huang Ji Cup" art and calligraphy works exhibition for primary and secondary school teachers in Beijing, and won the first prize. In September 2018, "Taoxiang Legu" was included in the "17th Beijing Artists Association Newcomer New Works Exhibition" and exhibited at the Capital Library. This painting skillfully combines the characteristics of Pinggu with large peaches, peach blossoms and violins, with a novel and unique intention; the triangular composition is calm and balanced; the main peach, violin and the peach blossoms in the background complement each other; the brushstrokes are fresh and vulgar, and the colors are harmonious and elegant.
In addition, in August 2016, 7 oil paintings from Dongsheng were included in the exhibition "Youyan Danqing" - 2016 "Painting Arirang" Chinese and North Korean Oil Paintings Exhibition. In September 2017, "Spring of Ten Crossings" was included in the exhibition "Tao Li Fenfang" Beijing Primary and Secondary School Art Teachers' Works Exhibition. In December 2017, "Feeling the Progress of Science and Technology and Imagining the Future of Education" was included in the exhibition "Danqing Campus Building Dreams Together" Beijing Primary and Secondary School Art Teachers' Works Exhibition.
Dongsheng's figure paintings are also very distinctive. In December 2015, "Warm Sun in Winter" was selected as "Youyan Danqing - 2015 Zanhua Cup Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Fine Art Works" and was collected. The player in the painting is immersed in the performance in the warm winter sun, and his face is full of vicissitudes. The lines are clear and lifelike, as if they are about to come out. The color of the picture is soft, and the contrast between light and dark is harmonious and beautiful. This figure painting reflects superb painting skills, and the level of Dongsheng figure painting can be seen.
As an art teacher, Dongsheng has been persistently depicting the beauty of his hometown with a paintbrush in recent years, and he has traveled through the landscapes and rivers of General Pass, Yaji Mountain, and Zhenluoying, and created many landscape paintings of Pinggu. He put the Pinggu landscape in his heart and painted it with passion, so that the landscape in the painting is better, more vivid, and more condensed. These paintings incorporate Dongsheng's emotional, aesthetic, and artistic appeals, so they are precious. This is the pursuit of art by art teachers, and this is the love of artists for their hometown.
Due to Dongsheng's years of hard work, his personal data has been included in the "2010 Artist's Dictionary", and his oil painting works have been included in the "2015 "Zanhua Cup" Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Fine Arts Exhibition Collection", "Pinggu District Double Embrace Calligraphy and Painting Collection", "Pinggu District Teachers' Calligraphy and Painting Works Collection" and other painting collections, and his personal works and resumes have been introduced by the special page of "Peach Blossom Garden" magazine.
