A simple count of the first round of the first round of the world ranking of the top 16 players (TOP16) of the previous snooker World Championships.

1. Data interception time began in 1982. The 1982 World Championships were the first time in the history of the World Championships that the top 32 squads were established, with the top 16 players in the world ranking against qualifiers.
2. The table counts the number of first-round exits of previous TOP16 seeded players and the defending champions and world number ones who have been out of the first round.
3. In the 40 tournaments between 1982 and 2021, a total of 176 TOP16 players were out of the first round, with an average of about 4.4 per tournament.
The top first-round exits were in 1992 and 2012, each with eight seeded players; the best seeded players were in 1983 and 1993, with only one exit in the first round.
