Kazakhstan's unbeaten rising star Shafkat Rakhmonov's next match has been determined, and the opponent is the American star Neil Magni, and the match will be held on June 26, Beijing time, UFC Fighting Night 209.

Neil Magni (26-8, 7 K, 3 S) is 34 years old and has a height of 191cm with an arm span of 203cm. He started his professional MMA career in 2010 and entered the UFC tournament with a (7-1) result in 2012 when he participated in the TUF Ultimate Fighter Selection, and has achieved a (19-7) result in the UFC so far. Since losing the ko in the fourth set by Santiago Ponzinibbio in 2018, he has won three straight games in 2020, beating Li Jingliang, Anthony Rocco Martin and Robbie Lawler in points. The January 2021 points loss to Michael Chiesa ended in a winning streak, and the May points victory over Geoff Neal, who just won two straight victories over Max Griffin in a divergent decision in March. Magni is currently 10th in the UFC's official welterweight.

Shafkat Rakhmonov (15-0, 8 K, 7 S) is 27 years old and has a height of 185 cm with an arm span of 196 cm. He began his professional MMA career in 2014, winning the KZMMAF sub-middleweight championship and defending title once in 2018 and the M-1 middleweight championship and defending title once in 2019. Joining the UFC in 2020 with a (12-0) score, he currently has three consecutive wins at the UFC, with Alex Oliveira in the first leg of the UFC debut and Michel Prazeres in the second leg of 2021, just in february this year KO Carlston Harris to remain unbeaten. Rakhmonov is currently 15th in the UFC official rankings in the middleweight.

There was also a high-profile flyweight showdown in the tournament, with Tim Elliott (18-12-1, 3 K, 6 S) against Sweden rookie Amir Albazi (14-1, 4 K, 8 S).
