Recently, American independent studio Vinci Games announced that its VR street basketball game "Blacktop Hoops" Early Access Edition will land on the Steam platform and App Labs on April 19, including a tutorial mode for familiarizing with the basic operation, a shooting training mode to improve accuracy, a practice mode for mastering dribbling and dunk skills, and a game mode for playing against 4 difficult AI.
It is understood that "Blacktop Hoops" is a VR street basketball game featuring 1-on-1 heads-up developed by American independent studio Vinci Games, which aims to make users feel a natural real street ball experience in VR. Players can easily make dribbling, shooting, and dunking moves in the virtual world, showing their casual and flowing style.
To maximize authenticity, Vinci Games used motion capture technology to capture the movements of street ball pros and dunk players such as Jordan Kilganon and King Handles, with Bobbito Garcia, the grandmaster of street ball culture, and WNBA All-Star Renee Montgomery also serving as commentators in the game. In addition, Blacktop Hoops features a sweet 90s soundtrack and over 30 iconic sneakers from independent streetball brands and designers.
For future planning, Vinci Games said that the future will be updated in two phases, the second phase adds multiplayer mode and open battle lobby, and the third stage is a paid version, including 3 special characters, 2 courts and private battle halls, network ranking matching and other functions.
