The second river crossing channel, jiangyin Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel, is located between Jiangyin Bridge and Taizhou Bridge, connecting Jiangyin to the south and Jingjiang River to the north, which is about 5 kilometers away from Jiangyin Bridge and about 54 kilometers away from Taizhou Bridge.

The starting point is located at the intersection of Chengxi Avenue and Gongxin Highway in Jingjiang City, and is routed south along Chengxi Avenue, a tunnel is set up north of Xingang Avenue, crossing the Yangtze River from Qiwei Port, exiting the tunnel south of Tongfu Road in Jiangyin City, and then routing south along the West Outer Ring Road to Furong Avenue. The total length of the route is about 12 kilometers, of which 6445 meters are cross-river tunnel sections.

The Jiangyin Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel is constructed by means of tunnels, bridges and surface roads, the main line is built by tunnel shield through the Yangtze River, and the north-south side wiring is constructed by viaduct and ground.

The project adopts the highway standard and urban expressway function, the driving lane adopts two-way six lanes, the width of the roadbed is 33 meters, the bridge and culvert design car load level is highway-I class, the design speed is 100km/h (main line), 50km/h (auxiliary line), and the tunnel across the river section is 80km/h.

According to the latest plan, the Jiangyin Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel will be set up north of Jingjiang Xingang Avenue (Chengxi Avenue along the river road) and south of Jiangyin Tongfu Road.
The entire river crossing passage passes through the Jingjiang River in turn: S356, Binjiang 1st Road, and the underground of Xinsheng Port Co., Ltd. (Jingjiang part).
