Qu Bo, who does not think of himself as a writer

Qu Bo left, quietly gone. Severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, advanced diabetes, uremia, renal failure and several diseases coexist. Although he was treated by a famous doctor in every way, he never had the strength to return to heaven, in the rare summer of the rainy capital, at noon on the day when he had just finished dialysis, he quietly left with unlimited expectations and helplessness for the pain, leaving only his immortal works "Lin Hai Snow Field", "Bridge Longbiao", "Mountain Hu Tsunami", "Rong Calyx Monument", and also left everyone with endless thoughts about him.

Qu Bo was a man of high moral standing and high esteem in the minds of the people, and among the writers of his contemporaries, he was one of the few people who always insisted on amateur creation and made great contributions to literature. He has raised a banner in the field of amateur literature and is also the pride of our amateur literary workers. All this is reflected in his novel "Lin Hai Snow Field". This book made him famous and well-known, and inspired and educated generations of people, many of whom grew up reading Comrade Qu Bo's "Lin Hai Snow Field". In the contemporary Chinese literary world, what writer's work can have such a wide readership, really from the white-haired grandmother to the little doll less than ten years old, when it comes to "Lin Hai Snow Field", it is all eyebrow flying and dancing, sound and color, which is the best test of the writer's work and the highest evaluation of the writer's work. Ding Ling once said to Comrade Qu Bo: "The masses of the people know that there is a Yang Zirong, and your achievements are very great!" Comrade Qu Bo also said more than once: "I am not a writer, not a writer, I am just an amateur author, and my work is industrial." Indeed, Qu Bo does not have the glorious title of a writer of several levels or levels, and Comrade Qu Bo does not regard himself as a writer. During the war years, he carried a gun to fight, fought heroic battles with the Japanese invaders, the Kuomintang, and the remnants of the bandits, and was seriously wounded twice; in peacetime, he participated in construction, entered factories, built locomotives, and dedicated the rest of his life to the railway construction cause of New China. In his spare time, he picked up a pen and used all his spare time and all holidays to engage in literary creation. He was not separated from the people, he was not separated from life, he created such brilliant works, his value can not be reflected in some kind of ceremony, it will be a rich and valuable wealth, whether for our professional writers or amateur writers will benefit immensely. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China: Fighting Wars, After the Founding of the People's Republic of China: Building Everyone who has read "Lin Hai Xueyuan" is not only shocked by the image of the reconnaissance hero Yang Zirong, but also by the image of Shao Jianbo, the chief of staff of the regiment, who has Qu Bo's personal experience and the prototype of this type of young commander in the People's Liberation Army. "Lin Hai Snow Field" is the work of Qu Bo with deep respect, dedicated to dear readers, and nostalgic for his dear comrades-in-arms. Qu Bo once said: "In the past few years, every winter, when the wind blows and snow falls, I instinctively remember the hard years of fighting on the snowfield of Linhai and remember the unforgettable winter of 1946. "My youth and youth were spent on the battlefield, my youth and middle age were spent on the industrial front, and I have done two and a half jobs in my life, one is fighting wars, one is engaged in industrial construction, and half is amateur literary writing.

Qu Bo was a native of Huang County (now Longkou City), Shandong Province, a typical Jiaodong man, who was only 15 years old when the flames of the National War of Resistance Against Japan were burning, and under the influence of the anti-Japanese national salvation ideology, he joined the Eighth Route Army in 1938. The young Qu Bo excelled in the Eighth Route Army, becoming a cultural officer of the 13th Regiment of the Jiaodong Military Region at the age of 16 and an instructor at the age of 17. War is hard and brutal. Qu Bo did not know how many times qu bo experienced the big and small wars, many comrades died, Qu Bo was also seriously injured, the femoral artery was broken, causing heavy bleeding, leaving a lifelong disability. Not only that, but the struggle within the party was also quite cruel; in 1942, just as the Japanese Kou were frantically sweeping up our anti-Japanese base areas, Kang Sheng and his ilk also swept into the revolutionary ranks of ours in Shandong Province, branding a number of outstanding intellectuals and exemplary instructors of the Party in our army as "Trotskyists" and engaging in extortion of confessions. Qu Bo was also beaten as a "Trotskyist" and was censored, isolated, guarded, and even tortured and questioned. In the Dao Realm, Qu Bo adhered to his faith and did not waver, and was finally released from prison, rehabilitated, and took off his "Trotskyist" hat. After the surrender of the Japanese and Kosovo, in 1946, under the command of imperialism, Chiang Kai-shek mobilized millions of troops to launch a frenzied attack on the soldiers and civilians in the Jiaodong Liberated Area, and even gathered puppet Manchu officials, police gendarmes, landlord bullies, bandits, and hooligan smokers in northern Manchuria to form hundreds of thousands of bandit armed forces. In order to deal with shark-like and sparrow-like bandits and establish a consolidated base area in the northeast, Qu Bo and his comrades-in-arms undertook the arduous task of dealing with these stubborn bandits. At the age of 24, Qu Bo was seriously wounded in battle. The injury was not yet neat, so he turned around and came to work at the Dalian Naval Academy. After the founding of New China, Qu Bo always wanted to engage in industrial construction, and at the age of 26, he came to the railway system and began to serve as deputy director of the Huanggutun Locomotive and Rolling Stock Factory in Shenyang and secretary of the Party Committee at the Qiqihar Railway Locomotive and Rolling Stock Factory. After that, he went to the first machine department to serve as deputy director of the first design sub-bureau, deputy director of the Deyang Second Heavy Machinery Factory of the first machine department, director of the office of the political department of the first machine department, and later transferred to the General Bureau of Railway Industry as deputy director. The shift from commanding wars to commanding construction is just like Qu Bo said, "To engage in industry, there is a set of creative engineering." According to the situation in China at that time, China's energy, what kind of locomotive was used, how much was the trailer of the locomotive, and how should the railway be transformed? The brain is all used in these places. In this post, Qu Bo worked for 34 years, until he left Hugh, listening to an old comrade who worked with Qu Bo said that Qu Bo often went deep into the grassroots, and had a personality of not being afraid of heaven and earth, and everyone loved to joke with him and call him "Little Wild Horse". He said: "I am only an amateur writer, compared to some professional writers, Qu Bo may be as he himself said , just an amateur author ", but compared to the character, cultivation, knowledge, courage, wisdom, courage and the works passed down through the generations, it has amazed professional writers and is worth studying seriously." He used to say, "I'm just an amateur author, I'm just working in my spare time." The so-called amateur creation is to use a little spare time other than the main business to rely on perseverance to create; through the creation of works and the shaping of characters, I can give the masses of the people a little political strength, ideological comfort, and spiritual encouragement, and I am satisfied. So he completely dissolved himself in life, dissolved in the work he was engaged in, he always dissolved the artist's mind, creative emotions and life tightly together, he had to stand tall, see far, and always demand himself, and in the depths of his heart, he realized that he was an ordinary person, a very ordinary amateur author. However, "Lin Hai Xueyuan" is a bestseller in the true sense, and it is also a long-selling book, printed in the fifties, printed in the sixties, printed in the eighties and nineties, and printed in the first and second years of the new century, and the People's Literature Publishing House printed two consecutive editions. At a book market a few years ago, I saw an old man turning to the book stall to find "Lin Hai Xueyuan", and he said that he bought it for his grandchildren and granddaughters.

The old man said that "Lin Hai Snow Field" is a very good book, all real life. Hearing this, Qu Bo was very happy, but for the honor and the title of writer, Qu Bo looked at it very lightly, and still silently did the work of deputy director of his General Administration of Industry. A few years later, Qu Bo quietly completed the first drafts of two novels, "Mountain Shouting Tsunami" and "Bridge Longbiao", but due to the "Left" ideology and the persecution of Lin Biao and the Gang of Four, it was not published until 1977 and 1979. As an amateur author, Comrade Qu Bo not only wrote literary works that the people liked, but also wrote these two novels under the tremendous pressure of Lin Ke, the "Gang of Four" and the "Left" trend of thought, which seem even more precious today. Qu Bo said: "I am willing to be an amateur author forever, amateur authors are very honorable, amateur authors can still write big works." He said that Cao Xueqin, who wrote "Dream of the Red Chamber", is not a professional writer, Luo Guanzhong, who wrote "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", is not a professional writer, nor is Wu Cheng'en, who wrote "Journey to the West", but they all wrote works that have been handed down to the world. Guan Jian is to have a grasp of life, cognition and sensitivity. In fact, Qu Bo's insistence on amateur creation is also the truth that literature is not separated from life and practice, and his works are also from life that they are so vivid and realistic. Qu Bo said that once he stood on the top of a high mountain, a bird's eye view of the whole big forest, undulating like the sea, the "forest sea" came out, the snow in the northeast was as boundless as the wilderness, the cold covered the earth, and the word "snow field" came out. In this way, the name of the book also came out, which could summarize nature and society and the mentality of people at that time. He said: "In the eighties, nineties and now, I have mainly observed and thought. Observing and thinking is an important part of my self-cultivation. "The writer is first and foremost a thinker, he has to observe first, he is concerned with society, with life. He thinks about social progress, the development of the country, and the process of reform and opening up. Therefore, first of all, we must read books, we must study." He bought a large number of books on the construction of Chinese and foreign railways and biographies of Chinese and foreign celebrities, and read them carefully as soon as he had time. Secondly, he makes friends, understands the social situation, and pays attention to social development and changes. With regard to creation, Comrade Qu Bo said that only after thinking clearly about the problems can we write and write good works that reflect the requirements of the times in the true sense; otherwise, he would not have easily written. Another question Qu Bo pondered was how to cultivate young writers. He often went to the railway to take a walk, take a look, talk with amateur writers, talk about it, and tell them that literature must have a life, and literature cannot be separated from the masses of the people. Life is the source of creation, life should be rich; creation should be emotional, beauty in nature; creation should be in everyone's heart, and everyone should have nothing in their pen. He also said that success and failure are what I need, a scientist, who has studied for a lifetime without results, that is also a scientist. What about creation? It is possible to succeed or it is possible to fail. For writers, success and failure, like the exchange of day and night, is a common thing, and failure is the mother of success. He said that it is still necessary to run high-quality and high-level literary creation classes, but there can be no big writers in the training classes, and only in practice, only in the practice of rich social life, can really good writers emerge. It is understood that Qu Bo donated his pre-Cultural Revolution contribution fees to the China Writers Association as a fund to support amateur creation activities. Because Comrade Qu Bo was not in good health, he did not attend the Sixth National Congress. I originally planned to go to Comrade Qu Bo's home immediately after the meeting and send the relevant documents and materials of the Sixth Composition Congress to Comrade Qu Bo, so that I could interview Qu Bo well. Before I went, an editor of the "Literature and Art Daily" also asked me to understand Comrade Qu Bo's thoughts, spirit, quality, and demeanor when visiting Qu Bo, so that he could leave a little more valuable experience in the past few decades, so that it would be beneficial not only to amateur writers but also to professional writers. For example: everyone wants to know more about why Qu Bo does not want to be a professional writer? Work is very busy, but can write such a good work? Some people say that amateur writers can't write the level of professional writers under any circumstances, so why can Comrade Qu Bo write? Perhaps because of the relationship between "Lin Hai Snow Field", everyone already knows qu bo in the war relatively well, but does not know much about qu bo in peacetime, does not know much about Qu Bo's participation in industrial construction, and wants to understand how Comrade Qu Bo created it while working in peacetime. Also, during the "Cultural Revolution," when the eight model plays became popular, especially when "Wise Tiger Mountain" was so popular, how did Comrade Qu Bo think, and how did he view "Wise Tiger Mountain"? Why didn't you hear his comments and his voice? Everyone knows that he pays attention to study, cares about politics, has a good democratic spirit, and is creative, and everyone is more concerned about what he observes and thinks about now. What enlightenment and falsehood can give us and so on. With these questions to be answered, I went to the hospital again. But I only sat for a while, and then quietly left his hospital bed. I couldn't bear to bother this very sick old man too much. Qu Bo seems to have answered these questions with action, just as Qu Bo's wife Liu Bo wrote on he QuBo's 77th birthday: "Looking at the complexity of the world, observing the mysteries of the universe, the seven years of ancient and rare, the hardships of the vicissitudes, the magic path and not tamed, knowing the laws of the world, can be frank and comfortable, healthy and long-lived, depending on the health of the children, may the grandchildren succeed, follow the wonders of nature, and laugh at the too vain." This can probably lower Qu Bo's outlook on life and worldview. Qu Bo has gone through the ages, and a brilliant literary star has fallen. When I heard the sad voice of Qu Bo's lover, comrade-in-arms who knew each other, and wife Liu Bo who was suffering and sharing on the phone, I knew that he must be bad, and sure enough, Liu Bo told me: "Xiao Wang, Qu Bo died at noon yesterday." Hearing this news, I choked up at once, I can't describe my sad mood at that time, although I know that Qu Bo's illness is quite serious, I am afraid that it is already terminally ill, but I still hope that Qu Bo's illness can slowly get better, because readers need Qu Bo. His death was a great loss for the literary world! He also promised me that after I was well, he would talk to me about creation and his observations and thoughts. How did you leave so quickly? With tears in my eyes, I came to Qu Bo's house, Liu Bo received me, she told me that Qu Bo died at 12 o'clock in the afternoon, he also ate an egg in the morning, and also ate a little of his favorite Jiaodong hometown dish, but it was not possible at noon. Liu Bo told me that a year ago, when Qu Bo was ill and hospitalized, he left a last word, and he told his family that once he died, he should not hold a farewell ceremony for the body. Don't alarm the old comrades-in-arms, they are all too old, and don't hold a memorial service, so as not to trouble everyone, and don't go into the Babao Mountain, just sink the ashes into the sea of their hometown. This is Qu Bo, a lifelong bright and humble Qu Bo. Although Liu Bo instructed him to act in accordance with Qu Bo's will, Qu Bo's former comrades-in-arms, colleagues in the unit, doctors and nurses who had rushed to the people's hospital to grab money and nursed him quietly came to the morgue of the hospital and held a small farewell ceremony in a small spiritual hall temporarily arranged. In the middle of the lingtang are the four big characters of "QuBo Qiangu" written by Qu Bo's son, in the middle is the remains of Qu Bo, and on the left and right is a pair of elegy, which reads: I cultivated the literature and history of Zenghui this time to go to qianqiu can be blinded: Below: Pingsheng Gangzheng bowed down and waved tears for thousands of years to sacrifice the heroic spirit. Below the portrait are words written by Qu Bo's wife, Liu Bo. "Rest in peace, dear Qubo! You and I have known each other for 60 years as teenagers, formed a family, raised four children, and have all started a family. In your youth, you turned to the north and south, seriously injured and disabled, and began to change your profession to engage in construction, you worked seriously and studied hard; in middle age, you used all your spare time and all holidays to engage in literary creation. In your prime years, after several fierce winds and vicious waves, we are in the same boat, upholding the truth, still clinging, no complaints and no regrets, a lifetime of kanhe, regardless of gains and losses, hard work and resentment, accumulated into disease. Old age, all kinds of diseases, but in the mind, the mind is constantly conceiving, you have to create a novel. In addition to reading newspapers and books, most of them are reading history and thinking, and if you are immature in your conception, you will never write. You didn't write, but you told me about your thoughts. Your cardiovascular disease and diabetes are getting worse and worse every day, although they have been treated by doctors, many times heart failure has been saved. But the course of the illness is too long, the age is too big, and finally the disease takes your life. Although the work you conceived was not written, you left with infinite regrets, Qu Bo, your mind I know, in my lifetime, I and my children will do their best to complete your unfinished business, your life is too tired, it is time to rest. Comrade-in-arms, friend of the victim, wife Liu Bo. Qu Bo went, quietly, quietly. On his deathbed, he not only left me two photos of him when he was 30 and 60 years old, but also an original version of "Lin Hai Snow Field" that he carefully preserved, and also left us with infinite thoughts. I think his literary legacy is enough for us to enjoy for a lifetime. Let us sincerely say in our hearts: Qu Bo, thank you, you can rest in peace!
