Back in Melbourne, I decided to work in sales because I knew I wasn't young anymore.

My friends joked that if it were 10 years ago, I might have found a company to start from scratch, step by step, and grow from a small employee to a senior employee.

But I'm really not young anymore, and I don't have that much time to get into a seniority company and spend a lot of time boiling over seniority.

I want to enter an industry now, and then get a high salary through my own efforts in the shortest possible time, without seniority, without looking at the attitude and face of the leader.

With that goal in mind, I knew that only the position of sales could meet my requirements.

Anyway, I don't reject sales work, I also have a certain understanding of the nature of this work, so do it, there is nothing to worry about.

After I submitted multiple resumes, most of them declined because there was no relevant local work experience.

But I was not discouraged, boldly submitted resumes, and continued to frantically submit resumes.

This strategy has always been the "bottom building" thinking that I have been adhering to, and I have been adhering to the "bottom building" thinking for many years, and many things have been done using this way of thinking, and the results are satisfactory at present, so I have always believed in myself.

On the morning of the 10th, I received a call from a Westerner agent who recommended me a position, an entrepreneurial small company, 3 people, the agent and I agreed on a time, and tomorrow morning I directly interviewed the boss video.

I promised to come down.

Then it occurred to me that I hadn't shaved for almost a month, and that I would have a video interview with my boss tomorrow, and although I didn't have any worries, I still had to have a slightly clean, tidy image.

My original razor was at home in Beijing, and I forgot to take it when I went out this time.

So I must buy a razor today.

I still believe that online purchases are definitely cheaper than physical stores, so at eBay, Amazon, JB Hifi, I looked at my favorite brands and models.

Found that there is no particularly affordable price on the Internet, but there is a shop specializing in razors, hair removal, hairdressers, massagers and other small household appliances, physical stores in Melbourne Central, online stores and physical stores the same price, the price of selling is more beautiful than Ebay, so I rushed out of the hotel and went straight to Melbourne Central.

When I got there, I didn't say much nonsense, directly reported the brand and model I wanted, showed the clerk a photo of the product, and she directly gave me the goods.

Philips three-headed men's rechargeable razor, $99, card payment, less than 5 minutes to get it all done, the efficiency is really high, tomorrow before the interview shaving is just right to use.

On the morning of the 11th, get up, wash, shave, according to the pre-agreed time, turn on the computer, and enter the video conference room on time.

After a while, the boss also came, it seemed to be a very young boss, I judged that he should be Chinese, because the surname is Wong, the appearance is a Chinese, but a mouth to speak, listen to him speak English to know that he must be born and raised in Australia.

He first asked me to introduce myself, and then he introduced himself and the basic situation of the company.

Then he asked me some questions, about the previous work, about the future ideas, some questions are still very detailed, although the questions are not difficult, but some of the content I really did not consider before, so the answer is not perfect.

The interview process lasts about 30 minutes, ending with a talk of salary.

He said you have no experience, at first give 5.5 million, but I know you are certainly not satisfied with this number, you rest assured, after having experience will rise very quickly.

I thought to myself that he really knew me and saw my needs.

I never denied my love of money and felt that a starting salary of 55,000 was acceptable.

I still wanted to join the company because I had a good conversation with the boss.

Another key is that the company's office is close to my newly rented house, which can be reached in 10-12 minutes on foot, and then you can easily walk to work.

After talking about the salary, he said goodbye, he said that he would give the result after the weekend, and if necessary, he wanted to meet with me alone and talk again.

I said OK, no problem, and then quit the video conference.

After the interview, there was a feeling of relief, and today I accumulated another interview experience, which also laid the foundation for future interviews.

Go out for dinner, then come back and pack your bags and check out and move tomorrow.

March 11th, today is the last day of staying in the hotel.

At 8:00 a.m., before I got up, I received a call from the human resources director of Xiren Company, saying that I had received my resume.

She briefly talked to me, I introduced the basic situation, and then she said let me do a test, and she has sent me the test link to my mailbox.

She said that if you have time, do this network test within 3 days, and then talk to me, I said OK, hung up the phone, and immediately got up and opened the computer.

After logging into the mailbox, there is indeed a link to the test system and simple instructions.

I read the test instructions carefully before I started, and then there were some examples of test questions.

For example, the test question is really quite simple, nothing more than a problem such as kick corresponding to ill, fly corresponding to aeroplane and so on.

When I saw this kind of problem, I felt quite simple and very confident, but after entering the real test content, I found that the problem was quite difficult, and some words I didn't know.

For example, in the real test, there is a vocabulary test such as "coelenterate", and the time limit is very short, about 5 seconds of reaction time.

The purpose of these questions is to test whether you really know these contents and whether you can quickly find the internal logical connection.

If you don't know, basically can't answer, even if you can look up the dictionary, you can google the answer, it is simply too late, this part has about 20 questions, I completed very generally.

Later, there are some Olympiad questions, such as giving you a list of numbers: 1, 1.3, 1.5, 1.325, 1.65, 2.3, 1.65, 3.85, asking what the numbers behind should be?

I really didn't expect that looking for a job in Australia, the online test actually has questions such as Olympiad.

There are about 20 questions in this section, and I have completed them all, but the accuracy rate is estimated to be only about 60%.

After completing the first few parts, I came to the last part, this part is a personality and behavior habit test, there are 200 questions, all of which are multiple choice questions, I will choose one by one.

These 200 questions are not difficult, they are some scene patterns in life, I guess it is to test the psychological quality and thinking style of the interviewer and habits.

I finished the 200 questions, it took about 1 hour, I submitted them directly online after writing them, and then I sent a text message to the human resources saying that I had done it and submitted it.

After completing this sudden interview task, I packed up my computer and suitcase and went downstairs to check out.

I don't have much luggage, carrying a computer, pushing my suitcase and carrying a handbag out of the house.

The check-out process was simple, and when you got to the first floor, it was OK to hand the key card to the front desk attendant.

Just after returning the room, I received an email.

I applied for the casino dealer position at Crown Casino, passed the initial resume, and sent the second round of test questions.

This is again for me to go online to do the test.

I just finished my room and it was impossible to go back to my room, which meant that I had no internet available.

If I go to the newly rented house at this time, I haven't opened the Internet yet.

So I had to ask the waiter for the WiFi password in the hotel lobby and sit on the sofa in the hotel lobby to complete the network test.

Gambling games are illegal in Chinese mainland, so the job of a casino is unfamiliar to most Chinese and mysterious.

If you work in a casino, it still feels good at first glance.

In fact, I understand it as a position in an entertainment venue, that is, a gambling game operator, explaining to the guests how to play the game and controlling the progress and flow of the game.

One of the big reasons I applied for this job was that the place where I lived was so close to the casino that it was about 10-12 minutes walk away, which was simply too convenient.

The treatment of the dealer, relatively OK, 30 Australian dollars per hour, it is said that there is a tip, the working environment is certainly not to say, the conditions of 5-star hotels.

If successfully hired, for new dealers, the casino will give 6 weeks of full-time paid training and then officially start working.

Casinos are important entertainment venues that are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which also means that for the staff, there may be night shifts and may still be at work in the early hours of the morning.

On weekends and holidays, the casino business will be better, so the staff will also lose these days of rest.

Fortunately, these are not difficult for me to accept, so working hours are no problem.

The casino test does not have olympic number questions and word questions, but mainly tests the interviewer's observation ability and agility.

For example, observe patterns, colors, shapes, and be sensitive to numbers and the like.

There is also the reaction speed of the brain and fingers, this part must be fast, the graphics are flashed, and the fingers must be flexible.

I did a good job in the first part, and the accuracy has been above 90%.

Later, there was a facial expression test, and I felt that this part was very average.

The title is roughly a sentence to describe a scene, and then give 6 expressions to correspond to the situation described by this sentence.

For this type of question, from the test system, it is really difficult for me to distinguish between disappointment and frustration.

Anyway, they are unhappy, I feel that choosing which one is similar, but the system requires you to accurately find out people's expressions according to the described situation in a short period of time.

At the end of the test, there are some personality and behavior tests, somewhat similar to the IELTS reading the questions in it, choosing True and False.

There should also be a ranking of topics, such as a sense of accomplishment at work, salary, work environment, work pressure, promotion opportunities, employee relations, leadership attitudes, etc.

This time the questions were not as many as in the previous test, so it was relatively fast to complete, and I completed it in about half an hour, and then submitted it directly.

After submitting the network test, I don't want to work, so I quickly go to the intermediary office to get the key and move the luggage to the newly rented house.

I also had to see if the newly rented room was already energized and watered, otherwise I wouldn't be able to take a shower at night, and I would have to spend time in the dark without electricity.

The last time I came out to see a house, I passed by the Melbourne Immigration Museum.

I've always known there was this museum, but I've never been in it, and I happened to be passing by today, and I suddenly wanted to go in on a whim.

When I was ready to go in, I was only half an hour away from closing the museum, so I hurried inside.

When I was at the door, the security guard also asked me to show the vaccination certificate, I said that I had a vaccination in Beijing, I had an international health certificate, he said OK, I showed it to him, he registered it, and then he was released.

The Melbourne Immigration Museum is an Australian museum focused on the history of immigration, located at 400 Flinder Street, Melbourne, in the city centre, inside the Old Customs House.

The work of converting the Custom House into an Immigration Museum began in 1996 and the museum opened to the public in 1998.

The museum is a three-story building, famous for its grand Long Room of Renaissance-style architecture.

The Migration Museum is a museum owned by the Victorian Museum, which houses victoria's cultural and scientific collections, and is a sister to the Melbourne Museum (including the Royal Exhibition Hall) and the Scienceworks Museum.

The exhibition hall shares in detail the stories of some immigrants, introducing immigrants from different countries in different historical periods, and finally building a career in Australia with their own efforts and living happily.

In addition to its immigration history, the museum hosts a variety of travel exhibitions and educational programmes to bring people to the multicultural experience of modern Melbourne through a variety of stories, exhibitions and festivals.

If you look closely at each exhibition hall, 30 minutes is certainly not enough, I just browsed through it, and 30 minutes is completely enough.

On Friday, March 11, the weather was sunny.

The agent's office was also near City, and I went to the agent's office to get the keys and went straight back to my apartment in the city.

I'm going to check the water and electricity first.

After entering the door, turn on the light first, there is no light, a little worried.

Because today is Friday, if there is still no electricity today, you must let the power company solve this problem for me on the same day, but according to the rhythm and efficiency of Australia, it is obviously a little difficult to solve the problem in one day.

Tomorrow is 2 days on the weekend, and the power company will definitely not go to work, which means that if I don't get it done well on Friday, I may spend 2 days of the weekend in the dark.

I had already called the company in the store a few days ago to apply for the opening, and they also promised that there would be electricity when I checked in, so I quickly called the customer service number of the power company.

The phone rang quickly and they asked me for my address first and then confirmed that I had power here.

I said I turned on the lights, so I wanted to confirm the problem of electricity, the operator said you first look at the home power gate open?

If the main power gate is open and there is still no electricity, let's see if there are any other problems.

I found the power gate behind the door, saw that the switch was indeed off state, I immediately opened the power gate, and the light turned on instantly.

Open the faucet again, there is also water, water and electricity, this is completely assured.

Take the computer out and put it on the table, take the suitcase out and hang it in the cabinet, take the sheets and quilts out and spread them on the bed, put the suitcase into the cabinet and pack it, and you're basically done.

The apartment is really not big, but although the sparrow is small and complete, it is completely enough for me to live alone.

Located in the city center, eating, shopping, going out of the traffic are very convenient, at present, quite satisfied.

Once the place to live is done, the next main task is to get the job done as soon as possible.

Only when you have a job can you have an income, and can you start to accumulate work experience in the industry as soon as possible.

A day without a job is equivalent to a day without income, and you feel a lot of pressure every day.

These pressures come from parents, from family, from life.

Houses in Beijing have to pay off mortgages, and houses in Melbourne have to pay off mortgages, and such pressure is really not general.

Although there will be a certain accumulation of previous work and life, there will be some passive income, but these incomes cannot cover my expenses at present.

This means that if I don't work and have no income, I'm moving forward in debt every day.

It may last for a short time, but it really can't work for a long time.

And I know that when you do sales, the income in the early stage may be very low or no income, because this job depends on the sales volume to get a salary.

There are no customers in the early stage, there is no accumulation, so the income is certainly not satisfactory.

Only after a period of time, after getting started at work, with customers, the income will gradually increase.

Accumulate experience first, and then show your fists.

Therefore, finding a job as soon as possible and starting to accumulate experience and customers as early as possible is the top priority.

These days, there have been resumes to various companies, and there are also some telephone interviews that come in, and the conversation is very good, but the main lack is work experience.

No way, I also realized that this is my shortcoming, I can't get rid of it, I can only face and continue to move forward, waiting for a boss and position that does not value work experience so much.

(17)

I have submitted countless resumes, answered N phone calls, and not missed any opportunity, just to seek a job.

I sometimes think it's harder to find a suitable job than to find someone.

Looking for a partner, the probability is that both sides can have action, and looking for a job is that the job seeker takes the initiative and the employer is not moving.

And many times, I may encounter some opportunities, but I can't tell whether the front is a great opportunity to show off, or a pit of non-negotiable abyss.

It turns out that my "bottom-building" theory is still valid.

Before communicating with my employer, I had only a basic understanding of the sales position, but it was limited to the cognition of outsiders, which was vague and abstract.

After communicating with N employers, I have a clear outline of the future position and what I want to do.

I also gradually became clear about what kind of company I should enter and how to start.

Communicate with the boss about the details, such as salary, sales commission, working style, room for growth and progress, and so on.

I keep reminding myself that picking the most appropriate opportunity, not necessarily the best, is simple, and only the right one can last.

I'm not young, I can't continue to toss myself, keep changing directions, really can't work, time doesn't allow, time cost is too high.

Fortunately, the effort was still effective, and a suitable opportunity was negotiated, at least for the time being.

I should devote myself to this opportunity and contribute to myself, for my boss, and even for the industry as a whole.

Immediately after entering, I found that there is still a lot to do and a lot of knowledge to learn.

In the past, the knowledge of learning books was bookish, and there were many more difficult and never encountered problems in practical work, which could only be solved by continuous accumulation of experience, and there was no correct answer in the book.

For new sales people, the hardest part should be to find their first customer.

For this matter, I have been mentally prepared, maybe the next 3-6 months will be extremely difficult, but I will never give up.

That's how everyone came to be, and I had to go through these trials.

(18)

I transferred money from nabbo to New Zealand to pay it back, but the transfer failed.

Although the money is very small, this matter has always been in my heart and cannot be forgotten for a long time.

Why transfer money to New Zealand to pay it back?

The details of this matter are here:

Long story short, on March 1, 2022, when I was connecting to Melbourne at Auckland Airport in New Zealand, the connection time was up to 24 hours.

Because there was no New Zealand dollar cash, my credit card expired and could not be used, and I was alone in the quarantine area of Auckland Airport, unable to buy food from the vending machine.

When I was so anxious and didn't know what to do, a well-meaning Air New Zealand male employee bought me 2 sandwiches at his own expense, his name was Mohammed.

Judging from his name, it should be Middle Eastern or Middle Eastern descendants.

Despite his repeated statements that it was okay, you're welcome, that's what he should have done.

But I insisted that he leave his name and bank account number information, and I also photographed his staff card, saying that I would return the money to him by bank transfer when I returned to Melbourne.

Mohammed's superior, a female manager named Oliveira, judging by her looks, was supposed to be from Eastern or Southern Europe, and she also helped me a lot.

On 8 March, I transferred NZ$15 to Mohammed through NAB Bank's online banking (two sandwiches totaled NZ$13, and I was polite enough to be polite and thankful).

At the same time as the transfer, I paid an international transfer fee of $10, the bank gave me confirmation information, and the other party will receive NZ$15.

According to NAB's official website, international remittances are processed within 72 hours.

However, until March 25th, nearly 20 days have passed, and the money has still not been remitted to the other party's account.

During this time, I went to the NAB branch several times to consult, and the teller said that there was nothing I could do but call the customer service number of THE NAB Bank in charge of international transfers.

After I called the customer service, I explained the situation to the staff, she also asked me some questions and information, and then said that it would be dealt with as soon as possible.

Each time the excuse is to deal with it as soon as possible, but there is still no news in the follow-up, and there is no news.

It wasn't until March 28, when I went to the NAB branch for advice, that an employee told me that the money had been returned.

What reason do I ask? He didn't know either.

Later, this NAB branch employee helped me call the backstage to consult, and the message I received probably meant that the money had been transferred from Australia to the bank in New Zealand, and the reason for the failure was that the payee information was incomplete.

I described my whole story to this bank employee from beginning to end, and he was very touched and praised me for being a good person.

I said that in this case, I had provided all the information I knew, the name, the bank account number, the bank name, why the beneficiary information was incomplete???

When I fill in the form when I transfer, the bank only needs this information to be enough, Swift Code online lookup, it must be right, why the transfer will fail???

NaB branch staff asked me, during this period, did anyone from the bank call me to ask for more information?

I said yes, the first time I volunteered to call NAB, the NAB operator asked me if I knew the recipient's birthday? I said I don't know.

Then, the NAB operator asked, do you know the recipient's place of birth? I said I don't know.

I immediately asked the NAB branch staff, I just want to transfer 15 yuan, I met a kind person at the airport to help me, how can I know the recipient's place of birth and birthday?

I do a simple international transfer business, the amount is not large, I don't need to know the recipient's place of birth and birthday.

He nodded helplessly in agreement with my statement, understood my feelings, he said but this is an international remittance, each country's bank requirements may be different, we can't change their bank requirements.

By this time, the NAB branch was closed for work.

The staff member of the NAB branch also comforted me, saying, "You did the right thing, but because of the "technical nature of the bank", this transfer failed." ”

He also advised me not to try again, because if I tried again, the result would be a failure to transfer.

He saw that I was in a bad mood and was in a very low mood, and in order to make me feel better, the NAB employee applied to his manager and refunded me the $10 international transfer fee.

He continued to comfort me, saying, "You're such a reliable person, and the Air New Zealand guy will certainly appreciate your efforts and attempts, but this time it really doesn't work, and if you go to other banks, you'll get the same results, so don't try again." ”

Hearing these words he said, I was speechless...

As of today, April 1st, I can still see the transaction record in my mobile banking app.

The display status is still processing( Processing), the processing time is 24 days and 10 hours, which is really ironic.

No winter is insurmountable.

There is no spring that will not come.

After a hard day's work, I finally gained some motivation to continue to work hard and overcome difficulties.

People, especially men, have no income life is really too difficult to endure, a little life is better than death.

Luckily, after a period of no income, I'm now starting to earn money again, and it feels really good.

Everyone likes money, but not everyone likes to make money, and not everyone can make money.

I want to keep a good attitude, move towards the goal, and continue to move forward, step by step.

For me, the highest efficiency is no rework, and the fastest progress is not to regress.

I never hide my love for money, I really love these colorful things, the more the better.

The More The Better.

In addition to my daily work and life, I also like to hang out and have fun, and I have some friends and classmates in Melbourne, and today I made an appointment to come out and get together, and walk around by the way.

Some Tips for a Casual Walk at 1000 Steps in Upper Ferntree Gully

️ This weekend, I went out with friends to climb the mountain, and the closest to the city is Dandenong Mountain.

(1) Here are Dandenong Ranges National Park Dandenong Mountain National Park scenic spots, divided into many different areas and attractions, I came to this attraction called Thousand Steps, simply put, 1000 steps, the English name is called 1000 Steps.

This attraction is relatively famous around Melbourne, and it is a very popular attraction, and there is an endless stream of tourists.

(2) We are by car, from the city to drive over the highway about 45 minutes to get, scenic spot has a parking lot, parking lot next to the toilet.

Parking spaces are still relatively sufficient, if it is a relatively large peak period (weekend) may not be enough, it is best to come early, before 10 a.m. there are parking spaces.

(3) If you take the train, you can take the Upper Ferntree Gully station, get off and walk 900 meters according to the map, and reach the entrance of the attraction at the foot of the mountain in ten minutes.

(4) Due to heavy rains in June 2021, some facilities were damaged, resulting in the Kokoda Track Memorial Walk, which is currently closed and the opening hours of the restoration are unknown.

But it was all right, and when I got to the bottom of the mountain, I would find that there were several roads to go up the mountain, so I chose the steeper one.

(5) The road up the mountain has steps and gravel roads, the slope is about 45 degrees, relatively steep, for the elderly may be more difficult, the more the road climbs, the more stable.

(6) Along the way there will be a distance indication sign, from 0 meters to climb up, 250 meters, 500 meters, 750 meters, 1000 meters, to the end of 1500 meters, almost to the highest point, there is a small rest area, some stools for rest, and drinking water faucet.

(7) If you climb to the end of the 1500 meters, you are not satisfied, there is a road on the left, climb another 470 meters along this road, and you will reach the picnic area at the top of the mountain.

(8) The picnic area at the top of the mountain has an electric oven, a faucet, a toilet, two rain shelters, one large and one small, and wooden tables and chairs for rest.

(9) Overall, the view is not bad, the feeling of being close to nature is also very good, and you may see some insects and small animals along the way.

It is more suitable for climbing the mountain on the weekend to exercise, because the steep slope is also a big test for physical fitness.

(10) Be sure to wear comfortable sneakers and clothes of easy soft material, and you can bring a bottle of drink or water. It takes about 1 hour to go up the mountain, and it may take a little faster to go down the mountain, about 50 minutes.

I posted a road map of the entire process of climbing the mountain in the annex, and you can see more specific details: the red dotted line is the route up and down the mountain, and the purple part is the closed route.
