In fact, when we treat every opponent with our hearts and play every game carefully, we can always learn something. With an apprentice mentality, practicing and playing with our opponents, we can get more progress.
1. Learn the opponent's movements
On the court, some people have very solid basic skills, some people have irregular movements; some people have strong forehands, some people have very characteristics of backhands; some people have high quality of pulling balls, some people rub the ball and control very solidly; some people attack steadily and fiercely, and some people defend one by one and the quality is still high. Everyone has their own technical shining point, which is worth studying and learning.
When we meet people who are better than us, we can observe the other party's pace movement, the cooperation of the big arm and the forearm, and the power of the pedal; when we meet people with strong backhand ability, we can learn more about the grasp of the opponent's batting point, the use of the wrist, and the combined force of the waist.
Many times, amateur golfers have more or less irregular movements, a technology because of the neglect of some details, resulting in the success rate of returning to the ball can not go up, the quality is not high enough. At this time, the opponent may be a mirror for us, adjusting our movements by observing the details of the opponent's movements.
2. Hone your skills
When you have practiced a new technique, it often takes a long time to use it flexibly in the competition. For example, the forehand pull down the spinning ball technique, it is not difficult to achieve an 80% success rate when the coach feeds the ball, and it may be achieved in a few months of practice.
However, if you want to be in the game, all kinds of balls can be played, to the other side to threaten, is definitely not an easy thing, pure amateur golfers often need more than two or three years of time, need to experience countless different opponents, after countless times of competition tempering.
Some people rub the ball more top, some people rub the ball softer, some people rub fast, some people rub slowly, some people rub the ball constantly changing, some people rub the ball to drop a single point, encountering opponents of different styles, we need to constantly adapt on the field.
3. See different paths
Many amateur masters have been deeply cultivating the amateur stadium for many years, perhaps the action is not standard enough, but the average person is not easy to deal with, even if the professional boy wants to win, it is not easy, which shows that people have a strong ability to handle the ball, see more ball paths, routines, and can adapt to and deal with a variety of different characteristics of the ball.
For example, long glue and other granular rubber have obviously different characteristics, play less on the field will inevitably suffer losses; weak serve is a common problem of amateur players, only to see more serves, understand the rotation of various actions, different rotation of the ball, in order to flexibly handle a variety of serves. Different opponents, high or low, can allow us to increase our knowledge and increase the experience of the game.
Modesty makes people progress, and pride makes people backward. The fastest improving people on amateur courses are often the lowest-profile people who constantly learn from their opponents. No matter what style, what level of opponent, there is always something for us to learn.
