Since the first season of Bridgeton aired in December 2020, attention to regency style has been on the rise.

According to the report, the doll skirts that appear in Bridgeton were searched the most, up 48% year-on-year; the search volume for high-waistline dresses increased by 36%; the number of searches for puff sleeve dresses increased by 31%; the number of searches for cotton poplin dresses increased by 29% year-on-year; and the search for corsets increased by 18% year-on-year.
The trend is even more pronounced when it comes to accessories, with searches for long gloves up 67 percent year-over-year, headband searches up 37 percent year-over-year, and pearl earrings and ballet flats up 26 percent and 20 percent, respectively.

Although Bridgetown and The Gilded Age are both set in the Regency era, they differ greatly in their handling of clothing and styling.
Bridgeton is a Netflix self-produced drama inspired by the well-known best-selling author Julia Quinn's best-known "Bridgeton Family Eight Steps", a "costume romance drama" set in the 19th century British regency era.
