According to the Ming Dynasty scholar Yu Yonglin in the "North Window Trivia", Xie Shi has a shortcoming: he does not speak through the brain. Every time Xie Shi entered the palace, he went to talk to Zhu Yuanzhang's wife, Lady Ma, but she could not speak. When she saw the high gate of the imperial palace, the carved dragon and phoenix, the palatial, and the royal garden was large and beautiful, much stronger than Xu Da's WeiGuo Gongfu, she couldn't help but exclaim, "Our family is really not as good as your family." Logically, this sentence is not a big deal, but Zhu Yuanzhang did not think so after hearing it. Zhu Yuanzhang felt that the king is a king, the subject is a subject, the hierarchy is clear, and the courtier should be clear in his heart, and he cannot be unconvinced, and if he is not convinced, he is ambitious. So is Xie Shi ambitious, or Xu Da ambitious? Zhu Yuanzhang decided to do something to Xie Shi, but also wanted to show Xu Da.
On this day, Zhu Yuanzhang hosted Xu Da in the inner courtyard. After the banquet began, he whispered a few words to the eunuchs around him, telling the eunuchs to take a few guards to Xu Da's mansion and directly kill Xie Shi. After the eunuch returned to Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Yuanzhang was still drinking with Xu Da, and he said to Xu Da: "Today you will be spared the disaster of extermination." Xu Da listened to the clouds in the fog and did not know what to mean. When he came home after drinking and saw that his wife was dead and the body was unbearable, he understood everything.
Xu Da's heart was extremely sad, but he could only cover his face and cry, not daring to say too much. The next day, he pretended to be fine, and did not dare to complain half a word to Zhu Yuanzhang.
The tragic story of Xu Da's two wives portrays Zhu Yuanzhang's domineering personality to the fullest; and the opposite of Zhu Yuanzhang's hegemonic personality is Xu Da's obedient and dare not resist in the slightest.

Second, why Xu Da is so "instigated"
As a great general, why was Xu Da so intimidated that he did not dare to say half a word for his wife? Let's look at one more thing.
The "History of Ming" records that one day, Zhu Yuanzhang asked Xu Da to enter the palace to drink. Xu Da was drunk by Zhu Yuanzhang and fell asleep, and when he woke up, he found himself lying on Zhu Yuanzhang's dragon bed, covered with a dragon quilt. Xu Da's first reaction was to immediately turn over and sit up, hurriedly and quickly walk down the steps, lie on the ground, and call himself a capital offense to Zhu Yuanzhang. The original text is "shocked to descend the steps, prostrate and cry out for the death penalty".
You know, sleeping in the dragon bed is a capital offense, and Xu Da's action of confessing his mistake and accepting the crime is right. But the key to this matter is not sleeping on the dragon bed, but how did Xu Da sleep on the dragon bed? There are two possibilities: one is that Xu Da went to sleep confusedly after he was drunk; the other is that Zhu Yuanzhang asked someone to help him up. The first case is not very likely, because the place to eat is a little far from the place where you sleep, and if you are drunk, Xu Da will warn himself not to go to the room. The second situation is more likely, Zhu Yuanzhang saw that Xu Da was drunk, and it was possible to send someone to help him to the bed; but he should not be helped to his own bed, he should be helped to the carriage and sent home.
Why did Zhu Yuanzhang help Xu Da to the dragon bed, thinking about it very much! This is deliberately framing Xu Da! When Xu Da woke up, Old Zhu could completely turn his face and not recognize anyone, and push out to behead according to law. You must know how many heroes Zhu Yuanzhang has killed, and the reason why he did not move Xu Da was because Xu Da was too cautious and did not give him a chance at all. But now the opportunity has come, and your boy has actually slept in my bed!
However, Lao Zhu still did not move Xu Da this time, which was a warning to Xu Da: Never get too late, it is easy to move you.
You say look, Zhu Yuanzhang has such a mind, does Xu Da dare to be cautious? Dare not tremble and tremble like walking on thin ice?
Therefore, Zhu Yuanzhang called Xu Da a brother, Xu Da never dared; Zhu Yuanzhang gave Xu Da the house where he lived, and Xu Da "insisted on not resigning"; Zhu Yuanzhang played chess with Xu Da, and Xu Da never dared to win...
As the saying goes, a companion is like a companion tiger, but it is not a joke. Xu Da's caution had already penetrated deep into the bone marrow.
Third, the Xu Da in "Jiangshan Yueming" is a fake Xu Da
The real Xu Da is so cautious, unexpectedly, "Mountains and Rivers Moon Ming" was broadcast, but it presented us with an upright, frank, and dare to tell the truth Xu Da.
